What is the best way to kill a Deathbringer?
So I'm level 22 (I Think? I just closed the game without checking progress) and got to Maker's End and I have to kill the cultists and the Deathbringer.

Since this is the first one I encounter and I was already kind terrified of the corruptors... :slimescared: (got much better at killing them now using pierce arrow to make their parts fall)
I just.. yeah I closed the game and I'm leaving it for another session when I'll be less tired (writing this at 4am local time lol)
Sooooo meanwhile I'd like to ask you crazy seasoned players (you know, the ones that played it multiple times or did the hard modes etc) what's the best way of doing this part? I'm only interested in progressing the story basically so seriously what's the easier way?
Thanks in advance!! :slimehappy:

My recommendation would be:
1. spam fire arrows to make it expose the orange heating vent thingies
2. when they are exposed, inflict as much damage as you can (e. g. with 3 precision arrows in one shot)
3. rinse and repeat

I concur, and add; freezing a Deathbringer is of varying difficulty but once frozen, hitting the top gun turret(s) with three precision arrows does a lot of damage.

When it shoots at you, dodge, get it right and you'll take no damage. If you get too close it will use a flamethrower on you, try to avoid that.

At Maker's End, there is a place, to the side, where you can hide and snipe and it doesn't hit you hard. Since that one is not moving around, you can stay half-hidden and fire away. I killed it with almost no damage to myself.

I always look for high ground or a hiding place when there is a big beast involved.

Knock it down to story mode to get past the hard stuff. It's makes for boring fights anyway so basically cheat your way past them.

They are not that hard to kill (on easy)... light them up until fire icon fills, then shoot off the exposed yellow parts.

The only concern with story mode is that I think achievements are impacted (which may not matter to you).
The first one is extremely easy, so don't worry too much.

Fire arrows until vents are exposed then precision or hardpoint arrows deals heck of a lot of damage.

blast sling is fun too.
ice rail cannon (frozen wilds)

Actually, the only achievements affected are those that are explicitly related to game difficulty

There are only two achievements related to completing the game on a certain difficulty:
New Game+ Completed
Completed a New Game+ playthrough on any difficulty.
Ultra Hard Completed
Completed a New Game+ playthrough on Ultra Hard difficulty.

Seeing as both are related to completing a New Game+ playthrough you can freely switch difficulty on a normal playthrough, which is something that you cannot do on NG+ because the difficulty you select at the start of NG+ will be locked for the entire playthrough.

Oh, in case anyone is wondering: yes, completing a NG+ UH playthrough will complete both of those achievements!

Try to kill as many watchers and NPCs as possible using stealth and when you trigger the Deathbringer into action hide behind the building to your left as you enter the area and just peek around and take out the big gun on the front. Just keep an eye out for a stray NPC or watcher attacking you from behind. That one is actually the easiest one because it doesn't start out with full health and takes more damage per hit than the others you'll come across later.

I think I'm gonna try this one, I haven't even opened the game since that thing appeared because it scares me lol

I don't have the ability to do more than one arrow at the same time yet :coolskull:

Poke it in the eye and kick it in the oil pan...hard. ;)

Jokes aside, try to kill surrounding enemies without getting detected, then I find hitting the weak spots and spamming fire arrows into the body effective except for the end game one. That guy takes a bit more work.

Sling fire balls at it with the catapult and wait until it overheats. It will expose its vulnerable parts (they glow red), then fire like mad with a long range bow/arrow set up. In between that prepare to dodge roll and run like a mad man.

If you're having trouble with Maker's End then it would be a good idea for you to raise your level and upgrade your weapons/armor as much as possible before you start The Grave Hoard mission. That Deathbringer is in mint condition and you'll be trapped in a large arena with him and a bunch of wackos.
