GTX 1060 and i7 3770 - heavy framedrops, even on low settings not playable
Nvidia GTX 1060
Intel i7 3770
16GB Ram
Game installed on SSD

I know that this isn't the most up to date hardware but I saw videos on YouTube where people have similiar/the same hardware and are getting around 40 FPS on high. Unfortunately though I've got heavy framedrops below 30 FPS even on low settings and therefore the game isn't playable at all. Apparently this is because of my CPU runs at 95-100% and can't keep up. I restarted the PC and closed all background activities but still the game produces very high CPU usage. Any suggestions what could be the problem would be highly appreciated :)

my 4670k was bottlenecking open world games and i upgraded to a 10600k a few months ago. My vega 56 will have to be good enough in this gpu madness.

Is weird. But i think its not your hardware.

Update your windows 10 and drivers. Make sure you don't have anything running in the background.

The game is not really well optimized.

I play AC Valhalla on high at constant 60 fps.

In Horizon I play on medium with few things on high at 60 fps, but it drops to 30, 40 in Meridiana. It's annoying but that's okay because there is no action there. At least not yet

i7 4790
rtx 2060
16 ram
In HDD

Are you waiting for the end of the shaders optimization process?
The shaders optimization process was the only reason for the high CPU load in my case.
Also, the load increases when the locations are loaded, but these are short-term peaks.

Core i7-2600K @ 3.40GHz
8GB of RAM
GTX 1060 6GB

ye a 1080 Ti is light years ahead of a 1060 though.. and indeed, 32 inch@1440 with a 1060 lol.. ouch. You have misproportioned your hw there. go on the used market and get at least a cheap 1070 or something. I did, and it's half price of a used 1080 but whatever you do, get rid of the 1060 with that monitor.. yikes!

10 year old cpu playing a new game...
Irrelevant. I also have a 3770k but overclocked to 4.5. With my 3080 I can average over 70fps on 1440 with all settings maxed. Don’t preach to me about CPU bottlenecked. I know and will be upgrading with Alder Lake. 🤪

ye, it's gonna be gpu here.. so makes sense. he has a 1060 though which is a hopeless card. You have anything but.. Using alt+r with the nvidia since we all seem to have nv cards, shows im using like 20-25% cpu and my gpu being a modest 1070 is in the 95+. I think his cpu will handle it, it's the card which has little raison d'etre.

From the looks of it OP is playing on 1080p and he is fine as long as it isnt below 30fps. Thats doable with the 1060.

lol the monitor was supposed to be with a new graphics card but i will just have to wait and buying a 1070 eww no i dont buy anything second hand and it wouldnt be enough of a upgrade to justify the purchase which is why i had waited this long i usually upgrade different parts in cycles so it doesnt cost me as much money at once plus you can choose your resolution and its not like i tossed out my other monitor.
