New player. DualSense (PS5) controller bug? HUGE deadzone/trouble aiming
Heyyy,

New player here! Stoked to finally check this game out!

Anyways, just started game, and, the controls... They just feel off. Now I would NORMALLY use mouse and keyboard, but seeing how Horizon Zero Dawn 2 will probably be a console exclusive for a while, I wanna get better with controller.

Anyways, fine-aiming while holding the bow string back, seems impossible. I'm not sure if the game is designed like this, but aiming feels super off. I can only make jerky adjustments of my aim, and can't do fine, small inputs.

Anyone else have this issue?

I've tried "Playstation Configuration Support" both on and off, and that didn't seem to make a difference.

Try a ps4 controller or xbox controller? Don't know that steam's api has been properly updated for the dualsense. The game certainly hasn't.

Ahhhh, I'm dumb, I figured it out. Went to my Steam settings and then calibrate controller, and for some reason, my right analog stick only, had a HUGE deadzone assigned to it. Very weird.

Oh, odd.

Probably something related to whatever profile the api loaded by default. God knows it screws up regularly.

The one it loads by default for Monster Hunter World for Switch Pro controllers is just... all manner of wrong.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Funny you mentioned MHW, as that's one of the games I was just playing last week haha. I neevr played ranged in MHW, so this'll be interesting in HZD. I'm playing on "Very Hard", hopefully should be a fun challenge.

Good that you picked very hard, not ultra hard. Ultra is intended for NG+ and starting there on a fresh file is... kinda brutal.
