infinite loading screen on start

when i press play, game starts with the classic clack loading screen. but that's all, it won't go any further, yesterday i was playing the game normally, i even backed up my save and reinstalled the game.

Mods freeze the game on load until they are updated to latest patch. Several mods broke with latest hotfix. Go check where you got the mods to see if they have been updated. Otherwise, uninstall the mods until they are updated so you can play the game.

i had shaders, but i uninstalled them and reinstalled the game, but it still doesn't fix it.

This exact same thing has happened to me did you ever find a solution?

I had the same issue and uninstalled the "focus highlight time extended" mod and that fixed it. If you have some mods, maybe one of them is causing the issue.

I had this literally just start happening to me yesterday out of nowhere. I have no mods installed. I have not updated the OS or drivers. Literally just started out of nowhere. It WILL eventually load but for some strange reason it is taking a really really long time on initial save game loading.

The only possibility I can think of is the steam client had an update and maybe it is doing something to effect this?
