Immediately switch to Sharpshooter Bow -> Tearblast Arrows and shoot on it's head or neck. This should take off the protective casings from the Freeze Canisters, which you can then shoot both with Freeze Arrows again to release the explosions and freeze it again.
After this, just spam it's center cannon with some tearing arrows.
Remember that Freezing a machine amplifies the damage it takes.
Good luck! 🍀
I remember on my first try out to use arrows to hit it but I had problems because it was flying so fricking fast even with the AIM time slow down effect. But I have better skills now and the longest time aim is slowed and fastest reloading speed too.
Thank you Sir, I'll head to testing it out. I guess I mainly slacked with that quest because there's been so much other stuff to do. :)
A good thing to use for easier aiming for me is aim and then jump - the time slows down in the air (a skill). I use this a lot until the concentration regenerates. Almost infinite time slowdown.
Oh, another idea - when you are really having problems, consider using armor that protects agains Shock damage (or Melee damage, depends). And there are protective potions against Shock and other elements - they are really useful and last quite long.
Atleast now I didn't have to worry much about its charge attacks. One charge with power armor took about 50% of the shield away.
I just lured it down, when it was close tied down it with Ropecaster and then banged it with fire arrows (fully purple modded Shadow Hunter bow, mainly modded for fire dmg).
Fun fight tho :)
Still a fun fight.
I love this game, it give you challenges and things to tackle all the time. People say the story sucks, I disagree, the story is one of the best Scifi stories I've seen beyond Terminator 2.
I just love it, I am sorry, I am not a fanboy, but I love scifi stories.
I loved the Hunger Games story, I loved Insurgent story and many more.
I am waiting for the movie of HZD!
1. Sneak to as close to the stormbird as possible while crouching/hiding in the bushes.
2. Set up 15 blast tripwires with minimum 500 damage all on top of each other near where you are.
3. Lure call the stormbird to where you are.
4. When its on top of your tripwires, ropecast it to the ground... watch the boom of your tripwires and a dead stormbird.
Listen to this guy.
I find the best way is to face it down and don't panic. It is good at leading shots with those electricity balls, so the best thing to do is not even move until after it fires one, then you can just get out of the way. It killed me like three times before I learned to just calmly stare that sucker down and just keep shooting.
I want to achieve things by myself, not by cheating.
I did the same, using tearblaster and tearblast arrows first, fire arrows and patience. I also tied it down a lot.
But after getting the Weaver armor (power armor), I could just use melee hits with spear after I got the birdie down and close enough :)
Just like in real life, you gotta cheat to be on top. Play by the rules, you get left behind.
