Aim assist not working?

I use the Xbox 360 wired controller , windows 10. The aim assist is not working despite it was on. The crosshair doesnt move towards the target or move at all. Can someone point out the issues or solution? I love playing with the controller, it was far much better than m&k at least with melee combat, movement and ui navigation. Range was hell tho and ofc I sucked at aiming with controller, I heard the game provides aim assist so I checked and it was toggled on but it seems to not be working. I would really appreciate a solution for my issue!

Aim assist is disabled entirely on higher difficulties.

I played on easy and it didnt seem to work for me. If it did work it was the mildest aim assist ever.

Works when going after wild animals. Not so much on Humans or machines.

aim assist in this game is not so much like in other games

It's not snap to target aim assist, it's more like if you're "close enough" aim assist, like if the reticle is near a targets head or weak spot you will hit that area of the body even if your aim isn't perfect.

I play on easy difficulty with a controller and the assisted aim doesn't work for me

I tried story and etc and the aim assist doesn't work for me either.

As was mentioned (last year), it's not going to snap to the target. You can see it on long shots easier, your arrow will curve slightly to hit where you probably wanted it to. Especially handy for bandit camps when you are trying to 1-shot them with head shots at max distance

I've been trying to find a good video that shows how the arrow's path will get a little kink in it when the aim assist kicks in.

Aim assist isn't worth using and its disabled on higher difficulties.

I don't think that's aim assist that kinks the arrows flight path,... It all depends on if your moving or jumping that kinks the flight path, standing still will make your arrows fly true.

Though jumping up and to the side can help your arrow fly over and around rocks.
