Sound Glitches anyone?
Recently started playing this on PC after completing on ps4..having weird sound sync issues after killing machines (sounds like they're in the area when they're not) and an odd noise when the combat music kicks in! Not my PC as have no issues on other games...shame cos the games amazing.

I think I have the same problem. Machines I killed keep making sounds and if I caused a stampede somewhere that sound will also not stop playing even if the machines have calmed down again. And when I leave the area and come back later it will start to immediatly play the sampede sound again...

I was having the same issues. Sounds were delayed after actions, stuck in loops, didn't end when they should, and sounded much closer than they should.

I found some help by messing with Windows' spatial sound settings but the real fix was replacing my old Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium sound card with something newer. It fixed all the sound problems I was having AND the occasional crashing.

Apparently, HZD uses some pretty fancy spatial sound processing that my old sound card just couldn't handle. I never had any problems with it before but it just wasn't up to the challenge. I replaced it with an Asus Xonar card and it fixed everything.

Also, from another post here it seems that HZD outputs as 5.1 surround by default and needs to be kludged into outputting stereo if you have anything connected that's potentially 5.1 capable.

Sound plays fine through my speakers, but I have tried EVERYTHING and I CANNOT get it to feed through my headset like before....

I had this problem once too...

You need to go into settings and change the audio output device. The game does not always automatically follow the system output device.

I've tried doing that SEVERAL times.

Wow, so that explains why I been getting those annoying loops, it doesn't happen every time, and I fix it by saving then reloading the save.
But I love my X-Fi and my 5.1 setup can sound sublime!
Dunno about scoring a new sound card coz of one game though.
But who nose, maybe new sound cards are beyond sublime :steamhappy:
Also resorted to replacing my beloved X-Fi card with a new Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus, which fixed it perfectly and even sounds better then the X-Fi on my custom 5.3 surround system (one 12" box sub, plus a custom two 15" IB sub if I really want to shake the house down) with custom amps and a tactile transducer bolted to my chair, super amazing experience, haa, all you headset chumps... I had tried everything to fix the X-Fi sound issue with this game, figured it was well past time for a sound card upgrade anyway, really loving the AE-5 Plus!

Ah I see, well after doubting an upgrade I am having my doubts, trouble is here in NZ the soundcard for desktops market is like Aloy believing superstitious religious talk.

There's no way we have to literally replace our sound card just to play 1 game properly, is there?

This port is still full of tons of issues even after the year and a half of patches.. insane.

Edit: Yes, we do. I tried working around it with 7.1 downmixing or "sonic for headphones" garbage, but all solutions still didn't have proper sound.

The only way to play this game properly is to use non-X-Fi cards. Incredible.

I also learned Realtek hasn't released a driver since 2017, and their driver page downloads at 30KB/s, What a consistently awful company 15 later.
