Impossible to uncover entire map?

Not talking about the black areas, but the white/greyed out areas.

Just left the starting area, trying to map out the southeastern mountainous area, and just can't unfog certain areas without being sent back to last save.

Not a big deal, if I'm not meant to explore the area, but "annoying" as the map will seem "incomplete"...

Do you get anything later that will let you map out such areas (increase unfog radius?) ?

I am not sure about the white / grey areas, but if you visit all the Tallnecks, your map should be pretty uncovered.

You just need to do all the tallnecks in the game to unlock your whole map lookout.
