One quest in particular sticks in my mine. The one I remember was the one where one hunts down three escaped prisoners for the warden of the Carja Prison. For me there were only two bandits remaining in the camp when the respawn occurred, and when it did I was repositioned in the middle of the camp. As I came to learn on subsequent playthroughs to avoid the respawn first one has to find, engage, wound the target NPC of the three prisoner quest and talk to her. Fortunately she and a couple of other bandits can be drawn out of the camp at the southern gate and once wounded she begins calling out to Aloy. Irritating is that once she has fallen the NPC doesn't show up in Focus Mode so finding where she has fallen can be hard, especially at night.
Another similar respawn occurs doing the quest for Odd Grata. The three watchers that patrol the intersection on the road to the Brave Trail to the Prayer Beads respawn until the one has the Beads. Since those three Watchers are normally the first machines my Aloy kills she gets to kill them again after talking to Odd Grata. But once the quest is done the Watchers never again spawn at that location.
A similar mechanic occurs with one of the first quests, "In Her Mother's Footsteps", Aloy encounters in the Embrace. As you approach the NPC, Thok, with the quest there are Striders across the road and a pair of Watchers across the river. The last time I did that quest I approached Thok from the west through the tall grass. I lured the nearest two or three striders and dispatched them with Silent Strike. Then I sniped the two Watchers and talked to Thok. When I was done talking the yet to be looted bodies of the two dead Watchers and the remaining Striders across the road had despawned.
