''Luck of the Hunt'' errand still glitched after all this time.

Hi. I’ve been browsing the internet like crazy trying to find a fix for this issue. I’ve found quite a lot of posts about a glitch wich prevented players from completing the ‘’Luck of the Hunt’’ errand altogether on PlayStation, dated from 3 years ago. According to Guerilla, it has been patched, but funnily enough, even though I was not hindered from completing it (on PC) wich was the main issue players had at the time, I have managed to only partially, and ‘’halfway’’ complete it, since the quest is bugged and locks me out of handing it in fully.

When I accepted the ‘’Luke of The Hunt’’ errand from Taim I already immediately gave 4 boar skins to him, since this was an option because I already had them in my inventory. (They were NORMAL boar skins I already had in my inventory from all the hours played prior to this errand, and were not shown as special/quest items, nor from the specific boar-filled location that appears on the map after you take this errand on). After I went searching for the ring and returned it to Taim, the 4 boar skins had a red X mark on them, as if they were not handed over, and he took the ring and the quest was shown as completed - with the 4 boar skins missing and never showing as delived. I think it’s worth noting that I found a checkpoint save from earlier, and immediately after handing in the 4 boar skins I already had to Taim on our first talk and taking the errand, the quest menu already show as the 4 boar skins gathering having failed – wich can never be reversed.
I’ve tried mixing up the order and approach in wich I complete the mission to see if I can trigger the 4 boar skins to be recognized as having been delivered, but it just does not happen. For example,
-I went to talk to him again before TAKING the ring, and he does say that ''the skins I brought him already tanning'' but they never actually change status and are still already showing as failed/never delivered on the quest menu.
-I also tried emptying inventory/dropping 4 boar skins and picking them up again.
- On this errand, I can see ONLY the ring shown on the map. The place where the boars are supposed to be hunted from, right in the forest next to it, is NEVER shown on the map for me with a yellow circle. I found out the errand gives the hunting location by watching vídeos on Youtube.
-I still tried to hunt 4 skins again, from the intended location, and then taking the ring, and then delivering the quest to Taim, but this does not change anything.

Luckily the known glitch where the quest just remains active forever and stuck in a loop has been acknowledged and fixed by Guerilla os Playstation back then, but this quest is obviously still glitched for PC, and does suck quite a lot for people like me who always give their 100% on all quests. I have no save prior to taking the errand from Taim (only a very few automatic checkpoints after) so I can't go back and reset, and I’m already way in to start the game anew.

Does anyone else have this while playing the PC version, or found a workaround?

i never had this glitch..
and i never gave him the 4 boar skins early.. even if i had them..
and yeah they're not a "quest" item, just normal boar skins... however it feels like while the quest is aktive you're a lot likelier to get them..

the location you're send to is just generaly good if you wanna hunt for wildlife.. there are more loactions like this with high spawn density

sadly atm. i dont have a save where i could test this quickly, however i'm curious to see if there's a specific setting wich pretty much always triggers it.. wich is easy to achieve by accident

I can still reproduce this in latest version (176). Looks to me like the only workaround is to go back to previous save so rip. https://imgur.com/a/VxrYQ3c

Why not just drop your boar skins, talk to Taim, and then go get the quest-related ones? I know it's not an ideal workaround, but...

When you talk with Taim and accept the quest, one of the options is "I'll be back later" (or something like that). If you select that option you will have the quest and you do NOT hand over the 4 Boar Skins. Now you can go and find the ring, return to Taim and hand over the ring along with the 4 Boar skins and the quest completes correctly.

I did this a couple weeks ago on my latest play-through, previously I'd had the same problem with already having the 4 Boar skins and handing them over before finding the ring so figured I'd try something different and see if I could hold onto the Boar skins until after I'd found the ring.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that while I was on the quest I checked my Resources bag and I only had 1 Boar skin but I noticed that the Quest items bag had the "!" to indicate something new so I checked and there were the 4 Boar skins. So if you have 4+ Boar skins when you get this quest by using the "I'll be back later" option the game actually moves 4 Boar skins out of your Resources and turns them into quest items!

Oh, another alternative is to simply sell all your Boar skins to the nearby merchant BEFORE you talk to Taim. Once you have the quest you can return to the merchant and buy back your Boar skins. ;)
