Why is there an achievment for modifying your spear when you cant?

I also got modifications for it but they have no slots. Also there should be a disclaimer that you can't buy "the frozen wilds" on pc. I didn't learn until after i bought the game that they only released this game onto pc to sell more ps4s/5s. I thought it was a new game, on account of steam telling me it was. False advertising to sell copies of a game you can only partially play and can't even buy the second one. I'm not buying a ps5 just to play one game. I don't buy into this stupid consol wars crap. I stick to xbox only cause thats where all my games are. Why would I buy a new consol for one game? They aren't gaining money buy trying to force people to buy a system they don't want, they are only loosing money because people just won't buy the second game.

I'm sure there are plenty of I hate SONY threads all over the internet. Financial wizardry isn't some peoples strong points. Now that SONY did release this game on PC, I will likely look closer at other titles from them if they do so in the future - that's smart business.

I don't believe in console wars either - so I only play PC games. Not a fanboi of either XBox or Playstation.... From my chair - consoles have only slowed down PC gaming, but since not everyone is willing to use a PC, the lowest common denominator wins again.

Still, I like this game and all the extras that came with it. Sorry others do not.

We don't know that! I NEVER thought this game would come to the PC. The sales have been very successful. If anything, after part 2 releases - it's a given that it would remain exclusive for the very reason you suspect - as a sales ploy to entice players to buy their system.

On the other hand, the success they had with the PC release would also dictate they would eventually do the same thing to increase profit once enough time has passed where SONY doesn't feel keeping it exclusive maintains any more benefit.

Pretty sure we can thank the success of Monster Hunter World for PC on opening the eyes of certain Japanese game developers in widening their 'Horizons' <---- see what I did there?

But seriously, the game is solid and what 'tiny' cliffhanger which was implied wasn't enough to keep me up at night.

2nd- You can play the entire thing- there is nothing partial

3rd- To do the frozen wilds you just walk there

4th - I think they released the game on pc because it is fun and wildly popular

While it's not in the current roadmap for the game, Forbidden West may still come to PC, on account their latest investor report (I think it was?) mentioned how Sony was going to increase their presence on the PC platform in addition to their console. Of course it's not yet confirmed, and there's only speculation, but the good sales and the investor report both allow for to a possible PC future for H2:FW.

The quest to begin the Frozen Wilds can be gotten from an NPC in Daytower. Chances are this quest is not visible till a player has reached some level. The quest is marked as Level 30 but is
obtainable at some lower level.

Yes, you can complete everything included in Frozen Wilds whenever you want and then return to the main game to continue with whatever quests you still have left.

To gain the ability to modify your spear you need to complete a quest that requires you to travel to the very north of The Cut. Once you've added a modification slot to your spear whichever mod you slot in it will automatically transfer over to Sylens' Lance at the end of The Mountain That Fell.

It may be worth mentioning that the outfits and weapons you can acquire in The Frozen Wilds can make the main game much easier, though you do need to be a decent level to survive in The Cut.

When Horizon Forbidden West releases it will be a PS5 exclusive, but afaik nothing official has been said about whether it will eventually be released on PC or not.

i think there's a good chance of it coming to pc later on as evident by several sony games that came out for pc recently.

nioh 2 is coming to pc a few months, too.

There are actually four ways to acquire the initial quest "Into the Frozen Wilds":
Ohtur in Daytower;
Rhavid along the route from Daytower to Meridian;
Yariki who is just north of The Grave-Hoard;
or you can simply ignore those three and simply walk up into Song's Edge (the first camp you find in The Cut) and the quest will automatically be given to you.
