The merchants just selling everything to me feels quite unrewarding (yeah, they need some machine parts for that - but that is not satisfying at all)
missed chance though
While HZD doesn't have armour and weapons spread all over for players to go out and find it does have Modifications spread around as loot for players to find. Plus some of the machine parts you need for trading to acquire armour and weapons from merchants can be a little troublesome to acquire. Then there are all the Datapoints spread around the world for players to find.
The only missed chance I see is the one where Sony and Guerrilla Games failed to take advantage of a marketing opportunity when they didn't re-release (or rather update and re-release) the official guide book, nor did they release a Collector's Edition for PC, both of which I suspect would have sold rather well.
But Guerrilla Games must have done something right with the game because there are millions of players who love HZD and a whole lot of Playstation players have been waiting for the news about a sequel for a couple of years. Now there's a whole lot of PC players wanting to know if and when that sequel will be coming to PC. Of course there's going to be some who dislike the game for some reason, but I think it's safe to say that the majority like the game.
Just saying that a bit more time invested in the loot table would have made it even better
The progression feeling would be way more intense with a large amount of weapons and gear you could find in the wild .. and my reward center would be stimulated a bit more.
Yesterday I stumbled into a merchant in the mountains with special offers and I was "ohh thats cool .. why didnt they implement special merchants earlier in the game?"
... turns out it was the expansion start area xD
