120+ FPS?
I have a 9900K and a ROG STRIX 2080 Ti OC'd. If I turn down a few settings and play at 1440p (I've heard clouds and AO is an easy ~25% performance increase), can I play this game at 120FPS locked? Has anyone been able to do this at any resolution? Or is the software backend so poorly optimized like people are saying that the game will hover in the low 100's no matter what?

I'd pick it up if a stable 1440p120 with ~high settings was available and working.

I play with an RTX 3080 and a 9900K and my FPS is around 105-120 with shadows at high, reflections at medium and clouds at high. Use this as a reference point as your 2080 Ti will be around 40% slower than this

Well I get a 100 FPS average with an RTX 2070 at 1080p original(medium) with TAA, Ultra AF and motion blur off. I'll say it's possible but the game will still have many CPU bound scenarios that will drop you below 120 FPS.

The 3080 is 30% faster than the 2080 Ti at 4K and around 25% at 1440p. No idea where you got 40% from.

it depends on the game. Some titles exhibit a 50% increase at 4K others just 20% at that resolution, most hover between a 30-40% gain tho.

Good luck.

A 3090 doesnt consistantly reach 120fps, so no.

40% slower than a 3080 lol, if even 20%, I would say 15% at best.

If you look it up the 3080 averages out around 27% higher on average over the 2080 ti but in games like minecraft rtx and quake rtx its around 100% better than the base 2080 and thats where nvidia got their quote from "3080 is 2x as powerful as 2080" but idk bout the 2080 ti it would probs be like 60% 65% 70% more than the 2080 ti in those games

Only at 4K, with Ray Tracing enabled.

At 1440p with no RT, it's much closer to 15%.

The problem with having and loving a 144hz monitor is having to adjust back to 60fps whenever you play a relatively modern game, or a game that breaks above 60 like Bethesda's. It's painful, but eventually you get used to it and forget how good 144fps is.

Trick is not to bounce back and forth between 144fps and 60fps games.

Custom Resolution Utility. Look it up.

You're welcome.
