Also do u use an bluetooth adapter or an laptop with built in bluetooth ?
The Epic store version doesn't have a good controller input handling system like Steam-Input which the steam version of this game has by default.
That's why you have to use DS4Windows for proper controller input support when in wireless mode for the Epic Store version as this Epic Store version lacks that ability to detect the DS4 controller when connected wireless.
The game's native DS4 support will kick in when connected wired as this is making more connection to the PC and the DS4 controller's device ID is visible to the game.
This isn't the case when you connect wireless as the device ID is not visible to the game, which is why you have to use an controller input software like DS4Windows to make the controller device ID visible to the game and let the game know its a DS4 controller connected. Steam-input does this very thing here on Steam.
My V2 controller works in both wired and wireless mode for this game here on steam as Steam-input handles the DS4 controller pretty well in wireless and wired for this game.
You say that your V2 works through wifi but do u get dualshock button icons?
I am using sony dongle
Controller ID differs between V1 and V2. On both wifi and usb

Personally, I use an TP-Link Bluetooth 4.0 USB dongle and connect the controller wirelessly with it to my PC. I get the Dualshock 4 button icons in this game and I even get them when connected wired as well.
Now I am kinda curious why you are emulating your V2 controller as V1. Have you tried making an profile on DS4Windows and loading this profile to play the game ? Also are you using the latest version of DS4Windows ?
Leave the controller to V2 itself and do the following:
-Create an new profile on DS4Windows and when prompted which preset to use, select the Gamepad preset.
-Once in the profile, go to the Other Tab and set the Emulated Controller to DualShock 4. Save the profile, and apply it. Launch the game and see if it works properly.
If this isn't fixing the issue, then maybe that Sony dongle could be causing the issue. you can try using your laptop's bluetooth if you have one or get an good bluetooth dongle, to connect wireless.
I understand that this is something that either devs forgot to fix or how epic is handling gamepads.
Sounds more like first. Unfortunately i do not have laptop which is capable of running this game.
I am sorry but I did not know abt this at all, so thnx a lot for informing me about this.
I am assuming this is how it works then. Feel free to correct me with this if I am wrong:
The "Use Dinput only" option, turns off the emulated Xbox 360 controller from being picked up by the games and enables the native DS4 V2 controller's support if the player is using an V2 controller.
The DS4 controller is visible to the game and the game if it supports Dualshock button prompts, will load in those button prompts.
Some games don't load in the Dualshock button prompts with the "Use Dinput only" option, and so you have to set the controller to V1 mode, which is changing the Emulated controller option from Xbox 360 to Dualshock 4.
Now coming back to whether the devs will fix this or not, well I have to be negative.
I feel the entire DS4 controller support is an after thought for most of the PC games that have a PS4 version. In Some cases this is actually left accidentally and the only thing I can suggest to do with this game now is to use the V1 mode emulated through DS4windows.
Or you can just refund the Epic store version, if still in refund period and get the steam version.
One of the many reasons why I prefer buying PC games on steam is how much additional controller support you get for a game that many people overlook while buying from other online stores.
If you are on PC, want to play a game that is multi platform and has a proper DS4 controller support, then the steam version is the one you should get.
Certain multi platform games sold on steam will also need another launcher along with steam to be open while playing. For these kind of games, its better to buy it on the other launcher itself.
For this game that isn't the case and so getting this steam version is an better option.
yes that is correct, that is how it behaves.
There are some downsides from emulating V2 as V1 , ViGEmBus does not support emulating the DS4 gyro (Sixaxis) games like Heavy Rain.So using option (Dinput only) makes those things functional on V2 if using DSwin
So in case game doesn't support V1 gamepad (WRC 9 FIA World Rally Championship) But supports V2. Users are out of luck
It is not possible at the moment to emulate V1 as V2
As for the game. Main reason i was so concerned about the issue is because , man, game is from Sony. Gamepad is Sony. So ..you know. I was expecting professionalism on that front.
Here's an link to an guide I wrote for AC Unity. You have to only follow the steps written in the Using Devreorder section.

After doing the neccessary steps from above, Open DS4Windows, and in your controller profile there, leave the DS4 controller set in the correct v2 mode.
First try the game without enabling the Use Dinput only option in the profile.
If the game still doesn't show the icons, then try enabling that option and see if it works.
Let me know if this works out or not.
I will mark your post as solution.
My hope is that sony finds they own :)
My mod effectively works for ANY gamepad, without any need for 3rd party applications for Batman. This is Hero Zero dawn discussion
