As noted, do make sure to invest some skill points into the time slowdown skills. This can be very important when dealing with harder or fast moving enemies.
Fun note - if you keep playing you can earn enough points for every skill, so skills are more a case of what you want when rather than forcing you to make choices that lock you out of others.
This game is not a souls like btw, it's a game where you have it aim at parts to damage it further, just unlock slowmo whille jumping and even sawtooth is easy early game.
