How do I delete save files?
Not the most pressing issue that people are having, I admit, but I'd like to be able to keep my saves somewhat organized. If I delete them from my PC, Steam Cloud loads them back up. I turned off Steam Cloud to see if I could get a fresh start, but as soon as I turn it back on, there are all the old saves again.

I just played for a while and kinda got the hang of the game and wanted to start fresh. Looks like it only stores about 10 each of auto, quick, and manual. But without being able to name the files, it could be hard to keep track of which file is for what. Really just curious at this point.

So far, I've only had one crash and really like the game :)

Turn off cloud > Delete saves > start new game > play for a while > turn cloud back on

Should do it.

I use Manual Save (just one) to know where the last one is and just delete everything but that one and the profile to clean it up a bit. I would also just run with cloud sync off like Seamus said because I always manually backup my game saves anyway.

C: -> Users -> (USERNAME HERE) -> Documents -> Horizon Zero Dawn -> Saved Game

Then delete the save files of your choice.

Can you not delete saves from in-game?

No, unfortunately you cannot. And, this is a big bummer for me. I also like to keep my save files clean, and not having a delete option in-game is just lame.

How do you delete individual saves? I'd rather not have 10 all the time so synchronising times are reduced when I close the game. When I go to load game I can't see an option to delete them.

I have the same issue as Valhach. I try to delete all my manual saves, but I keep getting them back from Steam Cloud. I tried to clear all the manual saves under the local "Documents" folder and also deactivated Steam Cloud for Horizon Zero Dawn. Seems to work well as far as offline sessions go. But the moment I reactivate Steam Cloud again, Steam Cloud places the manual saves file that I had deleted locally so I've been back to square one.

I have the same issue as Valhach. I try to delete all my manual saves, but I keep getting them back from Steam Cloud.

1. Start the game.
2. While it is running, switch to desktop and delete savegame files you don't want to keep.
3. Exit the game normally. Cloud synchronization will occur, because Steam will assume that since the files were deleted while the game was running, it was the game that deleted them.

This method works for pretty much all Steam Cloud games.
Kinda f retarded these no way to delete unneeded saves in game no?

Well this did NOT work for me.. I started a new NG+, then alt-tabbed and deleted all previous saves, except for the ng+ master file, then I immediately made a manual save and a quick save.

Everything looked fine, so I exited the game and checked the save folder and they were still gone. However, when I loaded the game again and loaded my new save it only showed my 2 new saves BUT, when I checked the save folder they were ALL back again...

Also, as for cloud saves, I NEVER use them. I always have cloud saves turned OFF...

This save system is a damn nightmare....
