I just checked and it happens at every gfx setting in the exact same manner.
It's really just screwing the look of the game.
Can you create a short video?
I´ve not the popin of textures 2 meters before the character in the game world, but the problem with the grass. On some areas you can see step by step a few meters far from aloy that the grass pop in step by step and the shiny effect is popin step by step to. It looks weired and ugly. It is not in the ps4 version. I think this will be not fixed. Turn off the weird grass physics and give us instead a higher drawing distance for the grass.
Looks likee a patch comes out on weekend.

I have no hope for the drawing distance fix.
25 th it´s mafia time and I hope for a good optimized game. HANGAR 13 that is the point why I´m sceptical about the remake.
I also have the grass popping in which kinda looks ugly.
There is also just more general popin which looks too aggressive.
Quality should be better, but if you look closely you can still clearly see it.

It looks like that you play without it. When I look at the grass this is the same issue for me. I found something out, you must use the newest ddu uninstaller to uninstall the old drivers with win 10 2004 and Microsoft Framework newer versions. I have not tested this game and must recompile the shaders now. I had texture issues and extreme stuttering with mafia 2 and 2 the definitive edition. Fast v sync causes flickering on my display. I hope I can see that some issues are gone now. I´m using now the newest nvidia driver 456.38
I can post a video 2 tommorrow. I will look that I reach the same area. The same spot.
We have the same graphics catrd. I can send you all my settings of the nvidia control panel and windows specific.
I don't think clean driver installations are going to help much with this.
I am atm also using the latest NVIDIA driver which also removes the need to compile shaders with AF on btw.
Still though, i think it is just a build-in local LOD bug.
Not every area has it this heavy, so thats why i say local.
This is sd quality. The hd quality comes later if the processing of the hd video is done.

You can see the extreme low drawing distance of the grass, but all my textures are fine.

I am still somewhere in the beginning of the game, not sure where exactly, but close to a main mission bandit camp.
I will try your settings, although most already match mine.
