NG+ Ultra Hard shield weaver worth it?
So I am going for a 100% completion and the first thing I did after completing frozen wilds and the main story was collecting the power cells.

I got the shield weaver now, but I feel that it is useless compared to the outfits from the frozen wilds. Is this true or does it has some other benefits? Like the shield thing can barely take a hit from anything before it goes to red. Whereas the chief outfit for example heals you over time while giving some mod slots.

Just wanted to be sure if there are some benefits for it.

So, apparently the shield weave armor has a smaller shield on higher difficulties, but also recharges faster as a result so... it's only KINDA a nerf?

I think I'd rather use dedicated melee/ranged defense slotted armor though.
Yes, it is. I 100% completed the game on PS4. Thing that makes it worth it is that instead of having a buff against certain element like Fire, shock, ice, etc. It essentially gives you another health bar that replenishes after a bit. It probably doesn't sound like it helps but it really does when you're running away to catch a breath.

It is actually better than the Chief outfit and the outfits from the Frozen Wilds expansion but then, it might totally depend on your playstyle as well.

The shield has 500HP on normal, 125 on ultra hard. On ultra hard enemies deal double damage compared to normal. Anything that would have removed 1/7 on your shield on normal will fully deplete it on UH.

Myself I did stick to a stealth outfit for the vast majority of the game (and the few time I didn't I ended up aggroing half the machines in the world).
Despite that, the Hard Shield Weaver. I feel like if you're good at stealth or good at other things, you don't really need any of those pertaining outfits. Even if it's a one hit shield down, that can save your life and prevent a futute loading screen..

They insta delete your shield, so, worth it to cover your life in regard, some enemies deal insane amounts of dmg, like the crocodiles which even at lv 60 it's almost an insta kill for me.

No creature is an insta-kill in Ultra Hard NG+, there is no creature that does a one shot, 1 hit kill.... Not even the final boss.

However, the sheild weaver is totally worth it even if it's depleted in 1 hit. Sometimes, as said before, that one hit is the difference of a loading screen.

Hmm I think it is indeed then a matter of prefered playstyle where the outfit can be useful, cheers for the replies!

UH Thunderjaw tail swipe and Stormbird Dive bomb One shoted me at about 700 max hp.
Shield Weaver is good for you if you just get hit once in while, Against things that attacks a lot and fast it isn't the best.

That shouldn't have happened, maybe it's glitching....

Not calling you a liar, just saying that Stormbirds and Thunderjaws strongest attacks are not enough to one shot you. The final boss attacks are much more powerful and don't even one shot you so what you are experiencing is not typical.

I'm still finishing the main quest but I fully cleared the frozen wilds on UH. Shield weaver is good vs "normal" machines in base game but those which chain attack you (like scorchers and fireclaws) could hit you without shield and some fireclaw attack oneshots you with 800 hp and no resistances. In those cases you're better with carja blazon master. I had 60 melee res and 160 fire res, didn't have much trouble.

I got one shot by almost everything in the Frozen Wilds, but when I started I was level 34 and killed the Fireclaw at 47.. so my health pool was also quite low. I think that at max hp you will need 2 of their strongest attacks in order to die. Maybe even 3

At max HP it will be two hits from a Fireclaw, 3 hits with a Shield Weaver

Shield weaver is good for everything that isn't Ultra Hard. On that difficulty, the shield almost always goes down in one hit, and after that, you're taking absolute maximum damage.

I prefer to use max resistance armor, since it's so damn strong, especially when it comes to elements. With a max modded carja blazon master with over 100 fire resist, scorchers flame blast attack does literally like, 4 damage. I usually go for elemental plus melee resistance for fighting machines. Everything else I use the stealth armor for cause it's easier to avoid open combat most of the time.

Still wish this game had transmogging, cause the stealth armor from FW is honestly one of the worst looking armors next to the frost armor. Mainly cause it makes aloys arms so buffed, cause it copies Sona's model completely, and it just looks wrong

The most recent speedrun of the DLC at AGDQ would disagree with you.

I can only assume an AGDQ 'speedrun' is finishing the game underleveled AND underequiped.
