sylens lance question

it can have 2 mod sockets but how do i get those ?

i have sylens lance but no sockets yet - is it some other quest reward ? DLC stuff ?

Iirc there's a quest in the frozen wilds dlc area that unlocks the ability to add mods to spears.

It randomly drops from any type of enemies. Might be a bit rarer than the other mods.
I got a few green ones and 1 blue as I just playing through normally. Then I start to get purple ones when I farm the Thunderjaw (on the way to Meridian).
Btw. the wiki said the best Spear mod you can get is 30% spear damage. But the best I got so far is at 27%.

I only got 2 mods of +30% (maximum) within 115 hrs of playing. Which increases the spear damage +60% in total.

I am still not sure if the counter is bugged as of transfering the save or if I really mistake that with my playtime on Death Stranding, as I actually assumed I played HZD also over 200 hrs.
I didn't like Death Stranding more than HZD, but it simply offered more chores to do. Even awful ones, but I somewhat felt obligated to do them until I gave up, at at LLx 499. XD

You have to do a quest in the dlc area to unlock them.

^ This. Sylens lance allows you to put 1 mod on.

A side quest in The Frozen Wilds allows you to get another spear mod slot. Can't remember what the quest is called though

Yes no mod slots on spear until completing DLC quest which gives you two slots.
