how to edit the config file

i tried to edit the config file with notepad++ but...well, it looks like garbage text to me. ive aquired an ultra wide screen today, and wanted to change the field of view for horizon beyond the extend ingame allows you and see if that fixes the vertical stretching.

anyone else here maybe had luck? maybe with another program?

I had no luck ether. It looks to be flags or encrypted so we need the devs to put it in plain text or some one to make a tool.

It's a binary file, likely with a checksum to prevent easy edits. They didn't go out of their way to expose configuration other than the in-game user interface with the port.

There are some settings exposed with the cheat engine script written by the folks over at FearlessRevolution.com - but these aren't really configuration, more editing settings at runtime.

So, if you want get more settings, you'll either literally have to hack the program, or convince the developers to add those settings to the game's user interface.

cheat engine could work if it's a fixed value so you can make a trainer for it. otherwise you'll have to launch cheat engine and find the value every time you play the game.

bah, im not gonna use that. i guess i ask the dev if they are willing to simplify the config file.
