I believe HZD is not Native pc code but rather an emulator/compatibility layer
For the hundreds of comments about performance and glitches, and my own experience with the game on multiple systems of different specs, I believe that the game is not 100% native code but rather a beta test for a compatibility layer that SONY may use on ps5 for backwards compatibility of ps4 games.

Is totally absurd that the games runs this bad on systems that are more powerfull than a ps4 and is barely enjoyable on systems that are way above of the specs announced for next gen.

Well, this is one of the dumber theories I've seen about the game so far.

This is one of the funniest things I've read so far.

I've seen your comments before and they always make me giggle.

Agreed.

what even is native PC code when a PS4 has a native X86 CPU.
But I know what you mean, theres been lazy developers like Square Enix that run the Mac version of Final Fantasy XIV over wine. so the mac version is simply the windows version

Maybe, just maybe the game is not probably ported and optimized for windows.

Yeah, this is just the dumbest theory ever.

Want to see it's not an emulator: Run the task manager and look for the emulator.

EDIT: For the record: I'm running incredibly smooth. I have seen 1 stutter where water was involved; but then it caught up immediately after.

Unless you're a programmer, you shouldn't be making statements like this because you have no clue what you are talking about.

To answer you question: Yes it is native code. No, it is not emulation. That would require emulating the PS4 and unencrypting the PS4 ROMS which is illegal

That said. Whomever ported it did a very sloppy job with their coding for Windows

Except for all the things present on the PC port that were not in the PS4 version you mean. KB & M support, video options, HDR support, control remapping, 144hz support, dynamic resolution scaling.

His theory is actually one of the smartest. You must be pretty dumb or inexperienced. THIS has happened before, numerous times.

GTA4 was emulated on PC !! The entire game ran through an emulator and not natively and it still does. Thus the performance is still ♥♥♥♥♥♥ even on massively overpowered systems compared to what the game requires.

His theory is realistic, especially considering the state this game is in.. All of you saying this theory is "dumb" have not enough brain to actually think about it for a bit.

are you really THIS dumb that you think if the game would run through an emulator it would show in the task manager ? its mindblowing :D

Do you see an emulator on GTA4 aswell ? NO you don't. Things like this have happened many times already and so far not once it was possible to prove it easily. only by taking apart the .exe and looking at it in detail its possible to prove it. Someone will do this sooner or later in horizon aswell

I will say whatever idiot did the sound system should be taken out and whooped. Making you chose between the different systems - vs - using default - is an idiot. If I need to use my headset, I have to go into settings and say 'use headset' - if I'm streaming to my Shield - I have to go into settings and chose the Shield drivers... That's just stupid.

LMFAO it is not illegal if it is done by the devs themselves, but yes, this is dumb af.
Plex Aug 8, 2020 @ 11:30am
fact is that a PS4 doesnt need to be emulated.
it justs the firmware that really differs it from a PC.
