I thought Direct X 12 wasn't supported on Windows 7 at all?

windows 7 has a partial dx12 library for a select amount of games. it does not however have full dx12 support.

Guessing Microsoft limiting it to Windows 10 to push the OS didn't quite work out as well as they'd hoped lol :-)

dx12 was limited to windows 10 in order to make up for the performance loss of dx11 compared to windows 7. not to push windows 10.
