Help. No sound in the dialogues.
Hi! I don't have the sound of dialogs. The music is playing, all the sounds are there, but the characters don't speak. But this is not always the case. Sometimes they talk, sometimes they just open their mouths. What could be the problem? :steamsad:

I had this issue, it was playing the dialogue audio through my headset, even though I had my sound set to my desktop speakers. I disabled my headset audio in windows manage sound devices and it fixed the problem.

I have the same issue. In the scene where Rost and Aloy part ways before the proving there was no audio for the dialogue which for me completely destroyed the scene. I have all kinds of other audio issues as well. From no dialogue, to volume so low you can't hear the voices to dialogue coming from the wrong direction (i.e. character on left side of screen, audio coming out on the right). I hope they are forthcoming with a fix.

For some reason my system had setup it to quad speakers when I only have 2 so it didn't play any voice lines. Check your sound settings to see if its correct.

I was able to find a solution. If your problem is relevant, then write to me in private messages, I'll throw a screenshot that will show how I fixed it.

Go to the sound device settings. Hover over the audio device that you use by default, right-click and select "Properties". Next, select the "Improvements" tab and tick "Virtual surround sound". My Windows 10 is not in English, so the tab names may differ.

Can you upload a screenshot of what that looks like?

I feel that the game might be trying to play the audio trough 5.1 or 7.1 by default, instead of mono or stereo. Most games give you the option to choose, this one does not.

If I had to take an educated guess I would say that's the audio issue people are having, or at least part of it.

I have never had audio issues in games, however, the only application I have had problems with in recent memory with regards to audio is the Windows 10 Netflix app. Sometimes it default to 5.1, in which case I can hear the background noise, but not the voices. As soon as I change it to stereo it fixes the problem, sadly I can't do that here.

I know I'm late to the party, but could you also send a screenshot to me possibly of what it looks like?

Like Mald says, it has to do with your sound settings (7.1, 5.1 etc.) I have this in many new games with voice audio, and usually what fixes it for me it to change your sound driver to use a different format, in my case 2.1 instead of 7.1.

It's all been decided long ago, guys. I have already attached the answer to my question to this topic.

Yes, but the issue can have multiple causes so it's nice that anyone browsing the discussion and reads this can try multiple solutions to see which works for them.
