No Gamepad Support?

Edit- There IS Gamepad support, you have to ensure Steam settings are correct.

It barely works. The game forces you to use the official configuration otherwise it won't recognize steam inputs. And the gyro controls don't work properly in the official configuration. So basically you can't use gyro aiming with a DS4 unless you map all the buttons to keyboard+mouse inputs, which has it's own set of problems. Switch pro controller doesn't work at all.

note you can also get to those settings under settings>controller>general controller settings, that should open a window with big picture mode for you with the settings i mentioned.

Also to note that Death Stranding also had issues like this on its board on day one.
This is a Steam issue though, it really should ask the user to update that config when they connect a controller for the first time.

Or atleast have it automatic with the official controllers on the market.

You also cant mix steam input with mouse without small issues. I mapped right click to the left trigger, gyro mouse aiming works, but you cant move. also the ui jumnping between keyboard / mouse and controller hints.

anyone have a fix for the pro controller? Every time I try it either stops working with the game or not at all.

Same here, pro controler was working fine, now the game doesn't detect it.

Check out the community setups. There is a nice one for Dualsense that works with the gyros like BotW (and one I modified for inverted X and Y camera but not gyro). Also, I posted setup instructions for 3rd person games to use the DS4 with working gyro aiming... probably can be adjusted to work with other controllers whose gyro Steam can detect.
