Keyboard & Mouse or Controller?
Which would you prefer? Never played the game on console, but it seems more keyboard friendly than something like Death Stranding and since aiming is a pretty big deal I might consider it over controller.

kb+m, it's one of the reasons I'm buying it on pc. The bow is your primary weapon and I'm not very good at aiming with a controller. But if you're good with a controller that works well also. I played it on ps4 with a controller and still loved it.

It's really easy to google.

What's exactly your point?

For a game with precision aiming for me kb and mouse is better.
I would prefer Controller, even on PC. The only types of games I enjoy playing on M+KB are management ones (such as city builders), strategy games with much clicking, point and click games (obviously), and heavy first person shooter games. For the rest I'll go for controller, specially games that require "mashing button" action. I don't like mashing my mouse nor KB. Since I've adopted this stance my mouses and keyboards have doubled their lifespan.

For HZD it'll not be different. I'll play it on a controller for sure.

I don't know if you noticed or had the trouble to read it but he asked what would we prefer. I'm pretty sure google can't answer that for him, unless it has some new feature of reading minds of everyone in the world...

I genuinely maintain that if Judgement Day ever happens Google will play a role in it somehow.

It's not just aiming that's the benefit here.

It's also camera turn speed.

It takes over a second to spin around in the middle of a busy fight while aiming on console, then longer to find your target.

But on mouse, it should be more like a quarter of a second or less.

That's literally a game changer - both in combat, and sneaking.
@Ryan Fenton don't they use acceleration for the sticks? That really sucks when they do it like that. I usually play games with sensibility near to maximum both in mouse and controllers. I was hoping this one had turning speeds varying enough for a quick turn of the camera with the controller. Or do like MHW and simply add a Quick center command so we can focus on our enemy.

They use some - but console games have somewhat low FPS, so they tend to keep camera movements to a medium-sised maximum limit. To avoid visual tearing as the camera quickly pans.

That means even when the acceleration from the stick is up - you just hit the max turn speed quicker.

I play ALL 3rd person games with a controller.

Already have it on PS4 so have played it with a controller, and there is a lot of quick camera movements and a lot of aiming you have to do. So will def be using KB&M.

That's my logic too.

1. Is the game Need4Speed clone or another driving simulator? If yes, mushrooms.
2. Do you aim with weapons in the game? If yes, K+M.

Simple as that.
Perspective has nothing to do with it, it can be top down for all I care.

Depends on the game. I usually prefer using a controller for platformers and mouse and keyboard for any other game, especially first-person and third-person shooters.

I'm going to use an Sn30 Pro+ with gyro controls enabled. Playing a game with a mouse too much gives me carpal tunnel and back pain. I save it for games that absolutely require it. If not for the gyro controls I would use a mouse though, having to aim a bow with an analog stick was a big part of why I gave up on the PS4 version.

Yeah - when I can't be at a desk - I prefer using a trackball mouse.

There's lots of alternative equivalents of a mouse.

The key characteristic though is the direct method of pointing - 1:1 movement to action, where each little move of the pointer equals a very predictable amount of movement in the game.

That's why mouse acceleration is so bad - it takes away the predictability of being able to aim exactly where you move - whether that's with your hand (mouse) your thumb (trackball), or any other movement - like with a Steam controller set to mouse mode, a trackpad, or your gyro control device.

For some reason, lots of Japanese developers, and console-focused developers seem to love, love, LOVE to put mouse acceleration by default into their games, then leave off a method of disabling it - making controls feel like a joystick... which I never understood, since very few people like it, and it's always the hugest complaint.

That, and motion blur.

That's why it's beneficial to wait for actual gameplay outside company videos are available - usually after release, so you can know in cases like this. Preordering without that is just asking for annoyance.
