First Person View?

Anyone know if HZD PC will have a first person view option?

If not...

Anyone heard anything if modding might make this happen?

3rd person view drives me insane. Last time I checked, I don't walk around looking at myself on a screen with a camera on a drone.

" Last time I checked, I don't walk around looking at myself on a screen with a camera on a drone" are you new to gaming ? 3rd person view has been there from the beginning (maybe not the beginning but it started years ago) . first person became a thing just in the early 90's . Besides - horizon zero dawn isnt even a shooter to justify it being an FPS

Even if they mod it, the control will be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and not as good as a real first person view game.

lmao I'm truly sorry but you can't seem to realize the difference between a game and real life any longer. dunno how's it called, depersonalization / derealization? You are not the character, you are a spectator. Btw how do you feel about movies or theater then where you observe heroes and their actions/stories from somewhere else?

My question didn't ask for a history listen. And I usually stuck to first person shooters since the 90s. Quake, Doom, Mechwarrior, Half Life, Unreal Tournaments, Dying Light, Rage, etc.

Pocok, that is what has me worried. A game that started its life on a console with only 3rd person. Let's see if this turns into another console port bomb.

It's just personal preference. Kinda like how you like eating something that I may not like.

Don't be silly comparing it to a movie. I would never expect the actors to have cameras in their eyeballs.

I can totally udnerstand you, I am not that fan of 3rd person too, but believe me the fights would be super f'ed up if they were in 1st person and the game is just not designed for that.

I just might, but I will probably watch a bunch of videos of PC game play first, though. I love the entire giant robot thing. Gears of War was one of the best games I ever played, but it is 3rd person. I never got into GoW2 and beyond. Don't ask me how many times I asked myself "why am I starring at my back." My vision is weird, and I will gravitate looking at my character more often than I should lol. Hence why I prefer first person.

Totally with you on this one. I cannot stand 3rd person. It feels unnatural and more often than not it’s annoying as hell. I’m hoping for a mod. Re2 feels pretty good in first person otherwise I’d never buy it or play in 3rd. I also hope death stranding will get modded. If not I’ll skip on both.

I prefer 1st person games over 3rd person as well, but this game was built with 3rd person in mind and would not translate well to 1st person only. Just like the Soulsborne games and Monster Hunter World just to name a couple - they wouldn't work well as FPS games either.

If you can get past that though, HZD was a phenomenal game. I've had it for a while on my PS4, but I just recently got around to playing it and loved both the game, characters, and story.

If I buy the game on Friday (Aug 7) then I may as well reinstall my other visually stunning 3rd person view games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider and AC Odyssey. Don't really want to because I prefer 1st person for an unobstructed view of the scenery. Edit - Well AC Odyssey has 1st person but only in the story mode and it's not as graphically sharp as in 3rd person. Life as a first person view fan is so hard, I just don't know what to do anymore, I may have to make an appointment to talk about it with someone. Ok it's not nearly that bad.

Good luck with that, the in-game "1st person" mode, aka compass already screws the mechanic over by simply not taking in account your cargo, which is the main focus of the game, balancing it and not tipping it too far to drop it.

Edit: I removed my first person comment. I think drones can take videos in third person, they just use a camera mounted in the rear of the drone.

Yeah drone footage of scenery or of just about anything in 2020 is almost always first person I think, because a drone video doesn't show itself (the drone) in the foreground. Edit: Unless there's a second drone following the first drone, idk.

Oh I was just being silly, trying to imply people these days have a drone following them with goggles to view themselves that way. Would certainly be an interesting experience
