Will this game have Denuvo?
Noticed it has a special Eula wondering if they're hiding the use of denuvo in there.

I hope it has denuvo, because it forces to buy pirates wants to play. I finished this on ps4 buy still bought it because we need to show sony how pc gaming is good for money wise and they will bring more ps exclusive titles to pc after they saw selling counts

Pirates will play even if it has denuvo, maybe after weeks/months but still will play. Denuvo just harm the buyers because there is a dependency of authenticate with the servers and if this don't occur because denuvo servers down or you are without internet you won't be able to play.

Edit: There are a bunch of games without that crap that sell very well like The Witcher franquise, Sekiro, Cyberpunk etc.

And even if... I'll buy it right on release day and enjoy it. Have fun doing without it.

I hope not.

probably, wouldn't be surprised after seeing the unexpected price on it. I was expcting 40 and I think a lot of other folks were as well. after overlord gaming's ac origins vid back in december, I decided no more openw orld games for me when they have denuvo. you can be sure because of the amd promotion that this won't be having DLSS 2.0 either, in spite of death stranding having it those are different companies and different games. which also means this won't necessarily have denuvo going by that logic, but if it doesn't but still doesn't have DLSS 2.0 I'll just get it in the december steam sale unless GMG has a nice discount on it before then since I've already beaten it on ps4 and find the price to be a little greedy, in my personal opinion. my buzz has been killed lol.

I expected 40 because of third party vendor, but it being 50 tells me they are also passing a "denuvo tax" onto the customers, so it could be sensible to expect denuvo in my opinion. and in that case, it'll never be worth playing since I've already beaten it on console without a hitch on the ps4 pro's 5400rpm hdd... but the denuvo on pc even on an ssd will make it stuttery. watch overlord gaming's video on the assassin's creed origins exe form last december, and see what I am talking about. it's been definitively proven on that game beyond the shadow of a doubt finally, on it's impact on that one game with absolute certainty. I expect other larger open world games with denuvo to behave the same way, and the ones I've played like final fantasy 15 have.

So for a game I've already bought and beaten I'm not paying the denuvo tax to play an Ironically inferior version on my pc... denuvo will Immediately make it an inferior Experience... and the Experience is what matters not how many fps you get if it stutters like a mothertrucker while the version on my pro never stuttered even on the pro's slow mechanical hard drive. that's just not acceptable and they pass the cost of what makes games stuttery onto you in price increases when they could just not put the stuttery malware into it to begin with. think of just how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that is using denuvo thinking of it that way. It's like I own a park and charge amdission, and decide to raise the cost of admission 5 bucks per head and have to cap em int he knee so they limp through it and have a worse experience. that's what denuvo is. you pay more for games to have a worse experience than you could have. and they tell you when you can and cannot play on top of that, making it a rental.

it's a Large open world game, with a lot of things to stream, and if it has denuvo it WILL lag and if it does lag for you it's the denuvo and NOT the game. As I've said the game was butter smooth on my ps4 pro's 5400rpm hdd. If it stutters on pc, it means it Has denuvo which is what will be causing that and you should refund it asap if you get a lot of hitches in that first hour or two. nothing in the game should stutter at all without denuvo (unless your cpu is at mid-high 90s% usage) until you're much farther in the game and literally max out your ammo capacity and stack 12 explosive tripwires. the 2 hour window you get is nowhere near that point that's way late game dozens of hours in so it'll certainly be the denuvo whether they've said it's in the game or not. I suggest looking at the .exe size, and if it's over 100MB refund the game in my opinion since that's an easy indication of denuvo because it bloats the .exe with junk code.

I've already written off future ubi games because of denuvo after that december overlord gaming ac origins video... it totally pissed me off what I saw and was disgusted with ubi being okay with forcing those stutters on their customers while the unprotected exe hardly had anything go wrong. Knowing me I'll probably get it close to release if I still hear no mentions of denuvo before then, but I will be checking that exe size... and if it's too big I'll refund it immediately before even playing it. not worth the stuttery experience.

Well that overlord gaming video was very misleading and is basically wrong and untrustable.

Why would you hope it has denuvo? Pirates get a copy with denuvo bypassed so only you, the paying customer, will be burdened with denuvo, not the pirates.

how is one executable with the denuvo in it, plus the exact same executable with it completely stripped from it, "basically wrong and untrustable"? I once wouldn't have believed people could be so naive and ignorant , but after the past few months, I absolutely have no trouble believing it any more. I'm done here. I'll pick it up closer to release, and if I see a bloated executable, I'm gonna refund it and also think about passing up on my plans to get a ps5 as a ♥♥♥♥ you to them for that and also for all the censorship and cmas over tlou2 as well. sony has been making a lot of ♥♥♥♥ moves lately. =and I'm glad they did it before next gen hit since I might go with series x instead if they keep it up.

He compared the cracked/bypassed denuvo vs denuvo removed executable. He should have compared the legitamate version of the game vs the denuvo removed one.

I have personally tested it myself on my system for dmc5 and ac origins, performance was identical (however loading times were faster ofc). So I can say it doesn't make any difference for me atleast even when cpu bound.
Dante 2020 年 7 月 4 日 上午 12:22
Denuvo hurts you if you have a low tier CPU. If you have like i7 8700K then there wont be a difference but that does not change the fact that Denuvo hurts performance.

As for this game, I think it would be stupid to add Denuvo to a 3 year old game that is only for $10 :D

Even if Denuvo will not hurt my performance in any way, I still don't like that kind of DRM.

You see - When I buy something I want to own it. I do not want to buy something that has a build-in point of failure. It's like buying a program that has a purposely build in breaking bug, that can activated at the whim of the seller. I do not want to buy something that constantly has to check if I am the owner. I do not like to have a a game that is broken by design, so it can fail at any moment.

It's like buying an house, but you don't get the key from the front door. You have to call the seller to be able to enter your own house, and when the seller is not reachable... Well... Have a good time sleeping outside. Al right, maybe a bit over the top, but it feels that way.

As some people mentioned earlier, there are lots of games that do not have any DRM at all, but still sell like hotcakes. The Wicher 3 is a very good example. It is protected in no way, but still sells like crazy. Would they have sold more if they added strong DRM? Well - Probably, but the goodwill they got from selling DRM-free stuff probably outweights the income generated. I am sure the upcoming Cyberpunk will have the same pattern...

So there you have it... Sure - I still own programs that need a software key, licence or a dongle, but that still gives you the key in your own possession and not in the possession of the seller. At the end it's simple. If I buy something I want to own it and use it any time I want, and not being strong-armed or forced to depend on the mercy of the seller, even after the sale has been done.

Em nope. Any DRM is a issue for legally owner of the games not pirates. They will eventually broke any DRM and play for free.
