Which one to play first?
I see there are three games on steam. What is the playing order?

Prelude to the Fallen is a remake of the first game and is first story wise, second is Mask of Deception and last is mask of truth

Either start with Prelude of the Fallen if you want "full complete" experience.
Or it is possible to just play Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth. They are very simply connected, and not really mandatory to play Prelude byfore masks duology.

I've heard that there was also a visual novel-only original work as the earliest piece which also had the H scenes. Which games do that original work cover / which game is the remake of that? I also kind of want to be able to view the H scenes when the time for it comes.

Prelude, is a remake without smut of the OG game from 2002. There is really barely any H in the original game. It was a wierd time in Japan, where if it is a VN then it must have the most superficial ♥♥♥♥ scene at the end, fate stay night had one too and it is as useless as in Utawarerumono. If you adamant at wanting to see some hot(not really even by 2002 standarts) kemonomimi action, just gelboru or exhentai it.

Yeah I know, it doesn't need to be the most tittilating scene in the genre. I just always prefer consuming a product to it's fullest extent with the cut content and all, because those h-scenes at times could also add to the story or character development as well. I wonder when I'll know that "it happens" or not when I'm replaying the remake so that I can browse or something, though.
