That's so freaking stupid, because in other games that use GFWL in Steam (Dawn of War 2 comes to mind), the client works in the game.
Please let me know if these steps help you guys, and if not, write in to support AT doublefine DOT com so I can help resolve your problems.
I'm running Windows 8 x64 and have the latest GFWL redistributable and client installed (v3.5). I'm running a GTX 460 with up to date drivers. The game launches but the screen goes completely black and the process appears to hang. I've tried launching the GFWL client prior to launching the game but the result is the same.
It shouldn't be this hard to play a great game!
Thanks for making a great game and supporting it. DF is awesome.
