More achievements will eventually be available soon, but this one won't be changed.
"Raining Blood!" isn't super easy at all but it's still doable with proper preparations and tactics.
There are no preparations or tactics in "It's a trap!", it's just luck, and not about giving a sense of achievement.
There is a way to prepare and plan for the "It's a trap!" achievement.
You must design monster combos based on spreading damage.
The chance to get the achievement can be increased further with focusing on upgrading traps to deal more damage.
It is difficult but doable.
Yes, please
Some spoilers below if you want to know how I did mine:
There are two points you can save scum at (no honour for some I know, but RNG is RNG). At Week 5, the adventurers have a very high chance to drop an artefact - you should try to get the enchanted cog (20% more trap damage) or screwdriver (10% chance of double trap activation). If none of these artefacts show up or you don't get the option to choose one, ALT-F4 and reload your game, you will start back at the beginning of Week 5 and can try for a new artefact.
The second save scum point is when you reach a level where you think you can triple kill with traps - if the dungeon RNG layout is not advantageous to you, exit to main menu and reload the save to try again. You should aim for Monster / Trap / Monster / Trap / Etc layouts to soften the enemy first. You should also make sure that the MIDDLE hero is not a tank, because they can't be weakened or hit without strong AOE characters.
Good luck!
If you feel difficult to complete the achievement may wait until the next update
EDIT: Never mind, it happened on 7th. Not that it was what I wanted.
Ah well. Either way, looking forward to the game proper, so, it doesn't really matter (unless it is in the main game in which case ahhhhh).
This is not true, the game is basicly one big math problem you need to solve. If you want to you can calculate literally the entire dungeon and get it to work. Yes this is a stupid amount of effort, but sure as hell doable. Personally I don't enjoy that kind of playstyle, I rather do another run instead of calculating for an hour, but if getting this achievement is a must either you spend potentially many runs to get lucky, or you sit down and crunch the numbers on every enounter.
It has first been added to be challenging and to give players who like achievements farming to have something rewarding to play for.
Keep in mind that it might be an achievement that won't make it for the full version of the game depending on how easy or hard it will still be when more monsters, traps and other mechanics are added over the course of the development of the game.
Here is a video highlight of Aridolomo (the player just above my comment) on how he did manage to get the achievement (and without the trigger of the Mysterious Screwdriver Artefact, moreover!):

Hope this helps!
You can't calculate artifacts. You can calculate monsters and traps (provided you have plenty of gold). Upgrades can be hard to calculate though.
Should note that I did have the artifact, but It only activated once in a way earlier fight. The trap bonus artifact is a must for sure, but the screwdrive you don't need at all, though it can be a nice addition and will increase your chances a little.
