Gloomwood

Is there only only going to be one level?
While I enjoy the game, it seems like there's going to be very sparse content (compared to thief) if there's only one level interconnected level.

There is currently a solid 4 maps (not including the inside of the slaughtered goat). And we've only just gotten into the City with it's like 5-6 planned districts. It's one continuous world split between many regions, as is common with immersive sims?

Bro relax. I don't hate the game. I'm only comparing it to thief because thus far this game feels like a thief level in depth and complexity, which would be great if this was only of several levels. Considering how the sections are being drip fed into the game though, I'm concerned that this game might be short.

This is immensely silly. The fact you can travel back to previous areas doesn't mean the game is only one level long. There are distinct levels - the market is completely different than the fishery, for example.

This is like saying System Shock 2 or Arx Fatalis or Prey 2017 only have one level.

You don't have to stick around if you don't like the game.

what's wrong with that again?

I understand the concept. As a Dark Souls fan, I like the immersion an interconnected world adds. However, it's the lack of content I find concerning given how slowly content has been released. I'm worried that by the time this game is finished, there won't really much content in it considering what's available now feels roughly equivalent to maybe 1.5 thief levels, but seemingly took about a year to get to this point.

I am also shocked that this huge dev team consisting of dozens of people does not churn out content faster /s

it took more than a year, it took much more, it took love and dedication from a very passionate Thief fan and some help from their friends. And we have a very early access but still polished game that has one of the most amazing atmospheres i have ever had the pleasure of being immersed in. I have spent over a day now playing this game and i regret none of it, so if this unfinished game isn't for you, that's fine but if i can get so much enjoyment out of it now i can only imagine what i will get come another years time.

And if your not satisfied then give your reasons and hope the devs can improve, but you cannot be unsatisfied because its still a small(ish) and unfinished game because you knew that when you saw the steam page, unless you didn't see "EARLY ACCESS" which is totally possible.

So please reconsider your opinion for the time being and comme back on full release if you want, then if you have any fair complaints about the game, by all means share them, but for now don't complain about the scale of an unfinished game to a finished game.

Have a good rest of your day :BL3Thumbsup:
I do not understand this in the slightest. It's not a mission by mission or level by level game unless by level you mean loading zones, in which case there's like 6 of them now, Fishery, Caves, Cliffs, Tavern, Market District, and Merchants Shop. And as for the slow content creation there're two reasons for that, first is that it's a small team (as the devs have frequently pointed out) to me this means there're only like 3 or 4 people working on the game. And 2nd, they're married to creating quality content over content quantity, if you don't respect that, go back to all the AAA trash that gets churned out in the name of making money as fast as possible.

I can fully understand that. I'm not trying to ♥♥♥♥ on the devs. I honestly don't understand why so many people are taking it that way.

I dont know what the devs have fully planned.
I don't know if they intend on having the game in development for 5 years or more
I don't know how many hours they expect it to be

That's why I asked

For all your praise of Thief, you managed to deliver a bare minimum of the features present in every other immersive sim. This game is dogturds. fix it.
No, you are dogturtds, fix yourself.

Thief did manage to make the city feel much bigger by only showing you small portions of at a time. If it was just a single interconnected map it would have felt about as big as a "city" in skyrim.
