Will the doctor ever have their own voice?

A lot of what made Thief so great was of course the immersion as you’d trying to complete your objectives in a myriad of awesome maps, but also knowing Garrett as a person. His motives, the why’s and why not’s of the things he was going to do in a specific mission.

So far, the Doctor seems confused about all these people who come to contact him and who are trying to “help” him. Both parties that end up warn the Doctor of each other. I feel like The Doctor’s inside monologue could help convey this confusion and his level of distrust in these characters. It’s not like Leon and Ethan were mutes either.

Plus the occasional, “What did he spend all this coin on? A more lavish bed frame? Food? Of course, more food.”

Probably not. We're pretty firmly in the silent protagonist camp with some exceptions like Fallen Aces.

What about Michael Ironside? Splinter cell is dead in the water. It would be nice to see him back in the stealth saddle one last time.
