Goatman doesnt drop a sword ?

Hi, I just killed the goatman with powder keg + shotgun to the face, he died and his body despawned dropping a basement key on the ground but not the shiny sword he had stuck in his back ? do I have to kill him without fire or something ?

I don't think he drops any sword or weapon. Instead, you can get 2 horns once you destroy his body.

I also thought the shining cue was for the sword but it turns out it was indicator for a key which you use to unlock the tavern.

The shine is the key, as you have the canesword....well you dont get another one.
