That method is what allowed me to overcome the castle section of the hive in spite of me not bringing no where near enough ammo to deal with most of the crows.
When I'll go at it again, I'll bring flame bolts as well as more ammo so that I could potentially kill flocks of crowmen with a gunshot as bait and a well placed flame bolt.
2) In preparation for the elevator fight, I placed a few fuel barrels around the elevator and hid on top of the generator. When a few crowmen start crowding around, you can shoot the fuel tanks and one hit KO all of them. I think you can try spacing the tanks apart so that one explosion doesn't take out the other thanks. You can manufacture a few more fuel tanks and spread them around the arena. Recommended to kill the nearby crowmen before doing this, as the constructor makes a loud sound. If you haven't found the valve to fix the other side of the door, just drop a few of them in batches outside the door, so you don't have to keep taking the long trip back to the refueling station. Recommended you take out the torches near the door so you don't accidentally burn the fuel tanks.
3) I tried a very immersive sim thing with one of the timed valve doors (the one that leads to fuel storage) - I placed a box underneath the gate, and it stopped the gate. Sadly, I hadn't managed to make that useful as the boxes would block the doorway.
4) It's possible to kill a wizard hat crowman on a 1v1 if you're both far away enough from the others. You'd have to begin with a front charged stab, then it's a matter of timing the blocks before the next charged stab. I think it's about 3 or 4 stabs to take them down.
