How will inventory upgrades work?
So I'm just assuming that there's going to be some kind of upgrade to the inventory - as it is now, just carrying the three weapons in EA and a single stack of ammo for each will take up half the inventory. As development continues, the demand for more inventory space will only increase as more weapons, tools, and other items the player will want or need to carry are added.

The question is, how would these expansions even work? The doctor's case is an actual physical item, you couldn't increase the size of the inventory much without making the case have a larger internal volume. You might be able to come up with some system of extra panels or something that fold out?

You could alleviate some of the necessity for a larger inventory with the classic "series of magic storage chests that all somehow have a shared inventory" (which actually might even make sense in-universe, seeing as this setting does have magic, or just make it a system of pneumatic tubes or something), allowing players to move stuff between areas without having to actually carry it the whole way, but there are some things like weapons and healing items that are only useful when the player is actually carrying them while exploring.

ooh i'd love that. i hope they will tho. the devs said they may make a usable huntsmen rife and a poon gun.

Oh, that is a good idea, since all the additional compartments seem to have different shapes and sizes. That's always fun with an inventory tetris type of game

Now I'm not suggesting to make our Dr. being able to carry around half the map, he's no Leon (but neither is he Chris RE1) so maybe a compromise?
Have 1 extra equipment slot that will be taken by 1 ranged weapon?
Find an extra bag to carry Research items? Or a little pocket for gems, since they take quite a bit of space?
I don't think there will be inventory upgrades and instead people will have to start leaving behind tools at the hub. I don't think our Doctor should be able to carry every single weapon and become a one man army.

The dev has actually already stated that there will be. This post was made before the announcement.

As it stands inventory constantly reset it size :(. during loading save or changing map...it didn't happened before...will wait till upgrades will be available or commands worked as intended.
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
