As someone that didn't click with Undertale, will I like this ?
I received Undertale years ago as a gift and gotta admit I f*cking hated the quirky bs dialogue. Does it even compare with Undertale ?

Which games would you compare the story, depth & overall vibe to ?

It better my advice go in blind and enjoy it. Do not look up anything about the game.

Closer to Earthbound/Mother 3 in terms of vibe, which is inherently quirky. There's two halves to the game, which I'll refer to as "Dreaming" and "Awake." The quirkitude is thick and nonsensical in the former, but grounded in the latter.

It doesn't share much in common with Undertale other than being of the Quirky Earthbound JRPG genus. If you found Undertale insufferable then it will be better, but not by a huge margin.

If psychological horrors are the things you generally enjoy or are interested in it, check it.
To not spoil the stuff you can find in the game (even a small mention could ruin the gameplay), all I can say is that as someone who played DDLC and Danganronpa, I liked it.
