why is this game so contraversial

so many people will completely hate you for liking this, more so than anything else i've seen aside from political things. i do not understand why this is the case.

There've been multiple dramas about the game's creator Omocat and that's why some people hate the game even tho I think people should consider the product and its creator as two different thing. But majority of haters never played the game itself and just hate it for being popular. there's also this dumb meme about "Earthbound inspired rpg about depression" even though there's literally no examples of this. Omori is not about depression, it's about guilt and forgiveness. I mean Omori Isn't a perfect game it has some big problems but you never see those loud people actually saying those problems so yeah just ignore them.
Also the community is sometimes annoying and just like with Omocat people can't distinct between the game and the community so they'll just ♥♥♥♥ on both

People always forget they just should enjoy videogames instead of hating them. First time i buyed this game i was a total stranger and oblivious of any of these topics, which allowed me to play it for the first time and i totally enjoyed it. After finishing the game properly i was aware of all of this and i can only say that this hatred isn't deserved and i will not tolerate it.

Its just a separate art from the artist. If you don't like the things Omocat said a long time ago don't think of Omocat when you think of Omori, I know its hard to do but this game is amazing and you just gotta separate Omocat from Omori.
