this game is unplayable. should I ask for a refund?

I am stuck on the very first part of the game in the white space, I clicked everything and I have no way to exit it.

I watched on youtube someone playing it and they somehow opened a menu.
I pressed every single button on the keyboard and the darn menu does not open.

edit: you know what, ♥♥♥♥ this, I am just going to ask for a refund.
If the developers can't make something as simple as exiting the very first room straightforward then they don't deserve my money.

it runs just fine, the darn menu does not open no matter what button I press.
how do I exit the white space?

you cant open the menu at certain points. try interacting with everything you can to trigger something dropping if you havent already

Oh wait. If it's the first part of the game I think you should forget the knife. It's not going to help you there. Simply let yourself be caught by one of the hands and open the door

it just makes me have flashbacks to how i didn't like openworlds and rpgs as a kid because i couldn't find or remember the path to ♥♥♥♥
