It should be noted that the only source we have on this 'exclusive' thing comes from an unofficial fan discord. As far as I'm aware, the devs haven't spoken out on the matter either way--so the title of this thread may be a touch misleading.

Plus there's a new PC version on Windows/Gamepass with the new content--just not on Steam yet. So it technically already is confirmed not to be console exclusive.

It's just stupid it's not on Steam yet. While I am lucky that I have an Xbox available, with Game Pass, my point still st&s. Not everybody has an extra console or website available to them. & I'm willing to bet those players wanted the game they actually asked for. It really does suck.

I getcha--the lack of communication is frustrating for sure, with everything up in the air as it is. Especially if we don't know if it's coming soon, later, or not at all on Steam. Dx Here's hoping everything works out for the best.

it would be a legit braindead move to disallow the entire* omori community the new content without buying the game a second time on console.
(*literally anyone who played the game before the 17th would have been a PC player, for obvious reasons)

Unfortunately, OMOCAT has a pretty crazy past. They've had quite a bit of controversy before OMORI released.

It's just a comment to bait replies, lmfao.

this is kinda scummy, what about the og people who backed the game, what about everyone who bought and played on pc, without us there would be no console release. And you have the nerve to sit here and defend the exclusive content on console cus it will "sell more copies"
people like you are really killing the gaming industry

the omocat "drama"

Yeah, I don't see that as drama at all. I just see it as immature, entitled and pathetic zoomers whining about everything under the Sun. I think I trust OMOCAT a bit more than some immature "he/they/xe/kul'tiras" zoomer.

Welp, so they're being a scumbag by withholding content for no reason, huh. Go figure. So far for gratitude to the Steam/Kickstarter/etc fanbases that bought and funded the game's console release.

Sigh, well, there's always a certain approach, or watching videos. Not like any dev who treats people like this deserves the money... A real shame, can't trust anyone these days.

Exactly what I think too... Getting really bored with 'em...

This latest instance of lack of communication (or worse, the lack of update on Steam) is unfortunately, last piece of evidence for me to believe that the dev harbors some kind of disrespect toward players who otherwise would be core fans of Omori and its brand. It is industry standard that if an update is expected and delayed, there would be some kind of notice. It is especially inconceivable that an indie developer would rather keep fans at dark, than be excited for material updates that would happen in the near future.

I'm betting two cents that Omocat will not make another video game. If she ever does I hope she'll budget for someone to do the PR tasks.
