Can't pause the game

I've been playing the game for about 8 hours and suddenly I can't access the pause menu. it's not a problem with the button as it's still working as the cancel button. Any idea what I can do or how I can fix this?

It is a new bug introduced in 0.7. Just go to a picnic and it fixes itself.

okay I just heard, picnic doesn't seem to fix it for everyone.

yah I can't get into the menu as well so you're not alone OP

of course I discovered this right as I unleashed a dozen bears onto myself. I thought not being able to heal in-between the fights was a deliberate challenge, turns out it was a bug lulz

Yeah I've got the same issue. Has this bug been reported yet? I literally got to the middle of Humphrey and now I can't pause. Like I was able to get past it and to the final area of the game by using battles to heal but not being able to switch my equipment or my skills made the slime girls and Humphrey himself such slogs to fight through.
