It's an adventure with friends about friends and the exploration of the mind, anxiety, guilt, loss and meeting lot's of fun whacky characters in the process.
It varies tremendously between fun & cute and dark & ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.
What you can do with them, how to manage when they are overwhelming. It is a story about friendship, about childhood, about coming of age and ultimatly about guilt, grief and acceptance.
The overall sense of the game's humor seems to oft go unremarked upon, which I find kind of odd, since it is a big part of the experience. A lot of the charm, both the the narrative and the general aesthetic, comes from experiencing it first hand, though. Describing it doesn't really do it much justice, in addition to being a "spoiler."
"Welcome to WHITE SPACE.
Your name is OMORI, and you've been living here for as long as you can remember.
Everything is bright white. There aren't any walls.
A black light bulb hangs from the ceiling… wherever that is.
The floor is always cold. You don't mind, though.
You have a blanket, a laptop, a cat, a sketchbook, and your tissue box.
You have everything you need.
Sometimes a white door presents itself to you. Enter, and you'll find yourself in a perfect world.
One filled with colorful characters, endless adventure... and most importantly, your friends.
It used to be that the door would only appear on certain days...
But now it's always there.
Somewhere in the back of your mind you have an inkling that things weren't always like this.
You weren't always living in WHITE SPACE.
The truth is...
Your story is already over. You just have to remember it."
Boy with depression goes on adventures with his friends in a colorful world and after the missing of a friend of him, he goes between his traumatic memories to find him back.
Store page summary is enough and the build up/pacing is great.
