For how long do I have to walk around till Rococo finishes his painting?

Is it real time? I assumed it had to do with story progression, but I guess that would make it impossible after a certain point

I've tested a few things, not sure if it boils down to in-game distance traveled or battles won exactly (I highly doubt it's dependent on real-world time). A good way to do both of those at once is to travel from Rococo to Deep Well and fight a few waves of Squizzards in the Sea Cow farm for clams then go back.

[Hint]

Leave the area (sweetheart's castle) and do a battle. Fighting some random enemy in Pyrefly should be enough for Rococo to finish the painting. Worked for me.

You can just go outside of the Sprout Mole Village (climb up the staircase outside to Pyrefly Forest) and it will be enough. That's how I did all of them back-to-back.
