The Pet Rocks! minigame...
Is the final challenge of it completely up to luck? It sure seems that way after spending a whole hour constantly losing.

If any of the .4% of you that Steam says managed to beat this could chime in with tips, that'd be great.

I'm gonna be real, I spent so much time and focus in the fantasy world and vice versa that I didn't even knew there were minigames and part-time jobs in the real world

The AI for that last round is brutal. It's either using an optimized algorithm to defeat you or random moves. The optimal strategy is completely random moves. Also don't "randomly" pick moves, humans are terrible at randomness. Go to random.org, have it generate a set of random numbers 1-3 and follow what it gives you for output. You'll win after doing this five times or so.

This worked very well. Much thanks. I won after 2 or 3 tries, after many frustrating rounds before. I suppose the key was: don't think about moves, don't get angry at a loss, try again with the same numbers.

The champion has a 33% chance of choosing any choice so it's completely random.

I found I finally beat the minigame when I intentionally didn't stare at the screen, had it scroll through all three choices and then to click at random intervals so that I had no clue what I was even choosing. Something about me doing it randomly too worked better than when I was actually making choices. Before I tried that I was failing horribly, after I tried that I won in 3 rounds.

just press rock and do something else (like watch youtube) , no point in having a strategy with 33% on anything.

I made a backup save outside the final fight, kept moving with my main save, and came back a few times doing 5 minutes of attempts at a time until I got it. No real need to get the achievement on your main save.

finding this thread, i ended up closing my eyes each time and moving my selection a number of times either to the right or left. like the rng option but easier

Responding to dead threads is seen as a problem as everyone who’s subscribed to it gets notified of it despite everyone already moving on from the thread

I just treated it like a real game of rock paper scissors and I tried to "out think" my opponent and when i eventually won I felt like a genius
