Pegasus' deck is terrible
- can't normal summon half his toon monsters. They need toon world to be in play to be special summoned. If you draw a hand with toon monsters and don't have toon world, you get creamed. Apparently Yu-gi-oh has no concept of a "mulligan" and this situation happens in at least a third of the games I play as Pegasus.

- if toon world is destroyed, it destroys all your toon monsters on the field. Kaiba has de-spell cards! All that build-up for nothing!

- your toon monsters can't attack the turned they are summoned. This lets your opponent build up monsters on the field and make tribute summons. Toons just aren't worth it!

- you have one fusion monster you can polymerize, but no way to fetch the clowns you need to summon it

- you have a monster equipment called Shining Palace, which gives a light monster +700 attack. Great! Except your deck is filled with evil clowns, alligators, rabbits, and other weird toon monster things that are not light element. Why is this in here?

- your trap card is toon defense, which lets you protect one of your toon monsters (ONLY a toon monster) by redirecting the damage to your life points. Wh... Why? Why have this and not a mirror force? Is Pegasus too poor to afford a mirror force?

- According to the game lore Pegasus owns the card company that makes this card game. He can have any cards he wants, and I'm tweaking out at how bad his deck is. It's objectively crap. His one and only strat for beating Kaiba is getting lucky enough to draw a snatch steal, and hope that Kaiba summons a blue-eyes before his LP runs out so he can steal it. That's it. I don't see any other way to win. His cards suck.

Just... ugh! I'm cringing at how bad his deck is!

I thought Kaiba's deck was bad - he goes all-in on one thing. Fetch cards for his polymerize and his blue-eyes. He wants to summon the blue-eyes ultimate dragon ASAP. Okay. Sure. He does one thing. Okay.

But Pegasus? He can't even do one thing right! I have no idea what his goal was with the pile of poop he calls a deck!

"I'm going to fill my deck with all these monsters that are worse than normal monsters and not have any good trap or spell cards to mitigate damage! YES THIS SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN"

Haha, I love it when people are frustrated about DM-era decks, those decks are so bad!

Just play 3 copies of each: Toon World, Toon Kingdom and Toon Table of Contents. You'll basically always start with at least one of those in your hand, but if you still get unlucky, maybe add 1-3 copies of Watch Cat or Watch Dog too. You might start with a hand full of these also, but at least you'll be prepared in the event that Kaiba destroys your Toon World!

When you have Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon on the field, and Kaiba would attack it with his own Blue-Eyes White Dragon for mutual destruction, you'll be patting yourself on the back for having this savior of a card protecting your Toon Blue-Eyes from being destroyed by battle!

Don't forget that it only works for level 4 or lower Toon monsters! You can combo this card with Spirit Barrier, so that your Toon monsters will never be destroyed by battle AND you'll never take battle damage. But again, this amazing combo only works for level 4 or lower!
I've been playing the story decks. I don't think I can change them up.

What is with this game and mulligans? I get so many starting hands with no monsters I can play.
When you win the story duels and unlock the story deck recipes, you can use those to make "better" versions of the story decks, and use them from the "user deck" option as if it was a story deck. But since the DM decks are so bad, you might have to change them too much.

I don't know why the game was designed without any inherent mulligan system, but if you want, you can add in cards like Reload or Card Destruction, which can act like mulligans.
From my experience, I gave up on story decks pretty much from the 4th or 5th duel onwards... In fact, in reverse duels, I realized Kaiba's deck was rubbish compared to Yugi's deck. Unlike in the anime, game Yugi could easily destroy game Kaiba. Reverse duels are basically pointless if you use story decks.

I pretty much just made a DM deck and an Exodia deck, later made an Amazoness deck and just destroyed everything with these 3 decks. Occasionally I lost because of bad draws but that was about it. The opponent that had Exodia was one of the tougher ones to play against but that was about it.

The ones that use Seal of Orichalcus were also fairly difficult because their monsters were really juiced up. But if I used Exodia deck I could potentially trash them, them attacking 3 Old Vindictive Magicians and 3 Man-eater Bugs, along with 2-3 Mirror Force, and 3 Crush Virus traps was just brutality.

Amazoness deck is a bit unique because I can just field a single Amazoness Queen who makes herself and other Amazoness cards indestructible by battle. And then just run a deck with 45 cards so I just let the AI run out of cards.

I'm now playing GX storyline and I gave up on story deck right from the 2nd duel with Alexa. No point playing any story deck when I don't even get to inspect what card I have in said deck.

Bonz's deck is also terrible. Nearly all of his monsters are weaker than Joey's, and Bonz doesn't have any good trap or spell cards to even the playing field. On the other hand, Joey has a few good trap cards like trap hole and kunai with chain that Bonz desperately needs.

To make it worse, Joey's spell card Shield & Sword reverses the attack and defense of Bonz's monsters, and they are mostly zombies with 0 defense. This is devastating. It also counters his Castle of Dark Illusions, which is the ONLY card that can actually block Joey's beefy monsters with high attack power. Every time I play a Castle, Joey reverses its attack and defense and kills it.

The end result? Bonz loses 10 out of 10 matches against Joey. I don't even see how it's possible to win.
