question about Double Iris Magician

Hi,

When I scale Double Iris and I control a dark spellcaster, Harmonizing Magician for example, why can't I activate Double Iris' effect and then pop itself and search a Pendulumgraph card? It's not letting me. Can it pop itself and search or does it need to be popped by another card?

You can activate pop effect only if you can attack with that Dark Spellcaster monster.

And if is 1st turn, then you cannot use its pendulum effect. Because there is no Battle Phase in 1st turn.

That makes a lot of sense now, thanks bro for your response. That's why people (IRL) need Baronne de Fleur and Pendulum Sorcerer to pop it first turn. I actually asked because I built an IRL pendulum deck but Steam is a better forum imo than reddit. TY!
