New player help with campaign deck?
I have not yet started a campaign yet, but what deck should I use to beat everyone? Or to at least beat some to start?

I think its a matter of preference. Since you can pick an era, you would choose one that aligns with the deck type you want to play most. If you insist on chronological order, there is a "deck by packs" guide here, that's good as a starter. I know gravekeepers are popular as a start deck since its pretty easy to build and comes from the first era.

Another thing to keep in mind is the game, when doing campaign doesn't care about banlist. You can make a really broken deck if you want to just farm/beat the campaign. If that's boring for you, then I would urge you again to look at "decks by pack" and see what catches your fancy.

When I first started, I remember enjoying Madolche a lot and built that deck first, starting with the xyz era, Madolche is crazy consistent and the AI doesn't have many outs to going 2nd OTK. However the deck gets super boring to play and the combo for that otk is time consuming because of the slow UI.

Some decks I found fun to play that both had a high win ratio and not particularly repetitive (or at least fast enough it didn't matter):

Dark Magician, Lightsworn, witchcraft, melodious, and crystal beasts.

Oh, on another note, the campaign duels are fairly easy with a custom deck. The challenges are a big step up, but not too bad. You can challenge yourself by doing the campaign with the story decks, but some of the duels are really awful with the story deck...

All in all, do what you think is most fun. There isn't really any wrong way to play, just have fun

Thank you, I did try the story mode and I find rex hard to duel so am having issues, what would you recommend that is a good starting point? any packs I can use my dp on to start to make a decent deck? I got 50K of dp most of is by losing most of the time

That's actually a way people "efficiently farm points" is to just surrender as soon as duel starts to get a bunch of points quickly.

I mean, again, as far as packs and decks you want to play, it depends on what you want. You really don't have to do things chronologically, and if you jump ahead in eras, you'll have access to some really great cards just by the nature of power creep.

I remember starting off on the Arc-V campaign, and I played until unlocking Zuzu's pack. Once I did that, I bought a bunch to make a melodious deck, but I also found I could make a gladiator beast deck too. I played gladiator beasts to quick farm some wins because its consistent/fast, then finished out a melodious deck which is just fun to play with.

Alternatively: If you have unlocked Mai's pack (I think you might've by the time you duel rex, or it might be right after it, which I'm sorry if that's the case :S) you can make a really solid amazonian deck which is pretty fun and fast too.

Otherwise, you can stick to grandpa's pack and make a gravekeeper deck. 50,000 points should give you a pretty good jump on it.

The basic structure deck I chose starting out, since I couldn't stand some of the story ones was the one which had Blazing Inpachi. I then chose whatever we're the best monsters available at the star of the game. I can't copy/paste the decklist(or atleast Idk how to), but I'll post what is still left in it. I'm pretty sure ratios are wrong from what was available at the start of the game, since I abandoned this deck and built a Dark Magician and Six Samurai decks(among others later), but this is what I used to easily get all the way to Zexal.

Blazing Inpachi x3
Breaker the Magical Warrior x3
Fencing Fire Ferret
The Tricky
Goblinbergh
Marauding Captain
Exploder Dragon
Blast Sphere x3
Armored Bee x2
Flamvell Guard x2
Tune Warrior
Galaxy Serpent

Spells
Fissure x3
Mystical Space Typhoon x3
Monster Reborn
Harpie's Feather Duster
Raigeki
Shard of Greed x3
Supply Squad x2
Pot of Duality x2

Traps
Call of the Haunted
Mirror Force x2
Sakuretsu Armor

Extra
Number 20
Castel the Skyblaster
Cairngorgon the Antiluminescent Knight x2
Trishula Dragon of the Ice Barrier(unlocked and added)
Underworld Fighter Balmung
Stardust Dragon(unlocked and added in 5d's story)
Scrap Archfiend
Scarred Warrior x2
Crimson Blader
Celestial Wolf Lord Blue Sirius
Blood Mefist
Armor Arm

Side deck(stuff I started with but sided out as my deck got better)
Black Pendant x3(I remember I ran 3 initially)
Double Summon
Malevolent Nuzzler
Dust Tornado
Magical Cylinder
Raigeki Break
Bottomless Trap Hole(started with Trap Hole I think)
Ring of Destruction
Charcoal Inpachi
Water Spirit
Mystic Tomato
Adhesive Explosive
Alector Sovereign of Birds
Rocket Warrior

I used this deck to clear DM, GX, and 5D's with little difficulty. I know some of it was upgraded along the way but most of it was available at the start of the game. Dropped a few games where I bricked, but it happens. Otherwise I made it all the way to and through half of Zexal before my win/loss rate started to become more 50/50, so I abandoned this deck and made a Dark Magician Build to clear the rest of the game.

I had 100,000+ points by then so I looked up online which character's to purchase packs for. Yugi and Trudge we're the main ones for me anyway, but it depends on what u want to build.

i have to warn you, the decks are not acurate to what the players used in the anime.
You can easily see this by playing just a few games where yugi is using cards that would not come out for a few years.
