It's not getting updates but it's also not dead yet. Nintendo Switch online multiplayer still has near instantaneous online matchmaking and there's still a healthy # of concurrent players here, just mostly in singleplayer.

Once Master Duel is out though there'll almost be no reason to continue playing this from what I can tell.

~ 700 active players in 24 hours, I have at least 35 friends who are in game RIGHT NOW, yes, they are playing this game RIGHT NOW, that means, this game is definitely not dead. Not even close

The game is abandoned. There will be no more updates. That's what they're asking.

this game has 10,000+ cards, I think 10,050 - 10,100 something like that, what else do they want? there is nothing you can update in this game. I can not see what developers could possible add more.

• play with friends and have fun
  
• play with friends and test many decks
  
• build some crazy and strange decks and play with friends

If you are playing only SOLO, why do you need "Multiplayer" game? The whole point of multiplayer is to have fun with your friends, find some new friends.

So you're just blatantly ignoring what OP asked.

OP specifically asked if this game is getting updates or if it's dead.

The game is considered "abandoned" as it will not get any further updates. It doesn't matter if you have fun playing with your friends, the game is done. Over. Completed.

i think this game is getting secret updates. my buddy just got this game a few days ago... his ban list is different from mine and i got this 9 months ago

Then you're not up to date or one of you is using a modded ban list. There have not been any updates since the MR 4 April 2020 revision was introduced.

i just figured it out after trouble shooting with my buddy. i have lotd link evolution, he just has the original

There´s not much point in buying the original LOTD now since this one has all of that one´s dlc included.


What people are complaining is that there are not any new cards added. Do you know how many booster packs are released in the real life card game each year?

And 700 active players in 24 h is not much for a game like this. The old Yugioh Online had that many active players around on any time of the day.
