Minimum 40 card deck requirement?
Is 40 cards really the minimum deck requirement? I want to play with 20 card decks.

It has been a while since I've played a Yu-Gi-Oh game, but I think the minimum limit of cards in decks has always been 40.

You should try duel links if you want 20 card decks.

I've played duel links and enjoyed the 20 card deck combos and wanted to carry them over to Legacy but now I can't apparently :( very annoyed

Duel links has it's own board and ruleset, which is different from the regular yugioh game. It's not possible to play it in this game, since this is purely about the regular yugioh game.

Interesting. I didn't know you could use 20 card decks in Duel Links. Good to know!

If you are unfamiliar with duel links the game is meant for faster plays so it's been cut down to 3 monster zones/ 3 spell and trap zones, minimum 20 cards in a deck and xyz monsters were just recently introduced a couple of months ago so don't expect to find all the cards you want.

Thanks for the info regarding Duel Links. That makes sense then.
20 cards and you'll deck out to fast

Or you'll win even faster, because your draw will be far more consistent.

Put to the extreme, imagine a 5-cards deck which only has Exodia pieces. Good luck beating that. :P

Although it obviously changes depending on the type of deck or the level you play at, quite a lot of duels are decided within the first or second turn. Exodia decks are actually one of the only ones that need the game to be fairly drawn out to win.

Legacy uses Master Rules (the same rules as the real TCG), which means a deck size of 40-60 cards. Duel Links uses a different set of rules than the normal card game, where decks are 20-30 cards. You can't mix and match the rulesets. That also means that you can't use 20-card decks in real life, so don't go thinking that at any point.
