Help with "Darkness Metal, the dragon of dark steel"'s summoning condition

Does Link, syncro, etc count as type and i need the exact same type combination in the monsters? i had a board with 2 blue eyes white dragon, white stone of legends, azure eyes silver dragon and hip hoshiningen and i couldn't get it out.

Too late. but i see what happens now. All the monsters must have the same type and atribute AND be effect monsters. i thought the 2+ effect monsters of same type and atribute only required a minimum of 2 of them and the rest could be different but that wasn't the case.

Blue eyes white dragon being normal and the hoshiningen being fairy was the problem.

Also, I'm pretty sure that link, synchro etc. are not types. They are a separate thing that can also be a requirement to summon certain monsters.

Yeah, i always thought that myself so i was confused. It was just a misscomprehension on the link summoning mechanics on my part.

Actually, either would be a problem on its own.
