also this game isn't made by same company as duel links, again, wtf are you on about? This is made by Other Ocean, not KDE.
i played all tag force games and this is much better. simplistic but gets the job done is all you need for YGO. use your imagination for the rest.
all the extra animations and stuff in tag force games just added time to duels.
unfortunately, this game is not focused on a competitive one worthy of applause, my opinion (I only emphasize). there are really many grotesque flaws and technical errors in relation to this new version of the game and that in my way of interpreting do not justify the price for those looking for a pvp worthy of applause. I would like to see the company that made the game to focus these changes on free future updates, but I highly doubt it ... in conclusion:
if your intention is competitive I would rethink two or three times, because the game frustrates those who are looking for it.
but for those who enjoy animations, casual games with some friends and don't mind the texture of games similar to Playstation 1/2, not to mention the controllers without much optimization, then it would be an excellent game.
but yeah knowing where you can get your cards is something very helpful. but there's a site called "the card hub" which can help
the animation skip mentioned above wouldn't be too bad but especially in vrains duels the player does more and more bs and it's already hard to manage all the opponent is doing and can do to find the right point to butt in, Duel Links is a much more simple rule format in comparison.
but one place that REALLY sucked when I played (on switch therefore no "I own" icon) is the "declare a card name" UI. according to wikis which link to a judge forum which isnt public so I cant verify, when "declaring a card name", you dont actually have to declare a full card name, you just need to declare a card in a way, that both you and your opponent are both aware of what card is meant e.g. by stats, or even appearance [granted this would be hard to implement but whatever], like when I say "the morphtronic monster increases stats for each equip spell on it" against a Player with a morphtronic player we both know that we are talking about Morphtronic Videon, of the "Morphtronic that looks like a USB stick" (or like a lighter in the Japanese version) being Datatron.
AND YET you only have an alphabetic list of literally all cards in the game and you can only skip by starting letter and screen page, while painful in Japanese already, they run the "gojuu-on" (50 sounds) system which defines around 50 base syllables which can be used as a "starting letter" in english, you have the 26 letters, which is about half, you have basically the blocks being DOUBLE the size, and you have to remember how a card name begins, as you have NO FILTERS OF ANY KIND, no search, no stat filter, no filter by kind of card no nothing.
I agree with you that such things could be really helpful (especially for animations). But there is one thing more that's even more annoying than the last of filters in the declare a card - it's the lack of a game log. AI often searches and reveals a card, and you have a split second to see what they drew. And you can't check the game log to see what really happened after that 5 link summons and other special summons.
Another thing I miss that's been mentioned too is the alternate artwork (not necessarily uncensored) of some cards. BEWD has so many alternate artwork, and we're stuck with just one. Same apply to characters, someohow Vrain characters could get their alternate forms and avatars, but all other characters do not. And for example we have only a frankenstein version of Dr. Faker instead of his human form.
About the website, I know about it and used it too. And this is why I would rather want to have contents listed in the game rather than being forced to use external sources. Too bad it's too late for me, because I already beat the story and now I'm grinding cash to buy all the cards from boosters...
no idea what BEWD is (I am German and Play the game in Japanese) but yeah alt-arts would definitely not be bad, at the very least they got rid of the big logo in card images which was still there in original LOTD
I see, as far as I can say if I wasnt on switch I would just use a certain "engine" Software (we all know what I mean) to top up my credits and macro myself a turbo button to just auto do the booster buying as especially with how bad duplicate luck can end this is nothing I wanna do manually (especially as overflows [aka getting a 4th+ card of anything] go into /dev/null instead of for example being converted into credits or being avoided entirely.)
I don't mind farming the currency myself, but good god is it painful to open boosters. This is almost the only time I've ever "encouraged" the use of said software.
Just gotta find a way to do it on Switch lol
you are completely BLIND if you have the AUDACITY to say this game has even DECENT presentation, IT LOOKS HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, i rather eat glass then play more then 30 minutes of it per day since the gameplay feels like i am paying a dominatrix to torture me
